It looks like there''s some hiking, but mainly desert-type landscapes. Big Bear isn''t too far away so we might drive up there. Any suggestions?

Hi Tea...

Unfortunately we have only ever gone in really warm months where it's not too conducive to getting out and doing lots of things, we mostly just lay by the pool and nap...haha! But winter months are when the most people are out there seemingly. Greg had a great time visiting the Air Museum if you are interested in a bit of history. There's golfing which is huge out there. Also you can take helicopter tours or tour the stars houses like Frank Sinatra etc. There are definitely things to do out there but I am not the best guide unfortunately. Mostly we just sun, drink, nap, and eat!! It's total relaxation..hehee. Have a great trip...I'd love to hear what it's like out there in the winter! We definitely plan to go back next summer again!

Ries, you have to get your pup some reindeer ears too for holiday..

I tried Reindeer ears but Bonnie was not very happy! It was flopping back and forth...here''s a pic...he''s really grumpy...

I think my next dog will definitely be a little Portia. They have so much personality. I love the oversized head and short legs. Adorable!

I just wanted to update my thread with the latest from PrincessPortia, this picture was SO adorable...she made a bed for herself on my Gingerbread Hello Kitty on the couch, it was so cute to see her resting her head on it like a pillow one night. And the squinchy little eyes and the curled under paw...too cute...

I've also got some Christmas decor pictures if I get a chance to resize them I'll add them too.

heard you were in the SF bay area. i live on the peninsula, and i''m beginning the search for the perfect ring for my girlfriend. being local yourself, do you have any recommendations for jewelers in SF or on the peninsula i should check out?

i''m also trying to get a family heirloom appraised but all the big stores are snowed until the holiday season is over. suggestions?

Hi there...

I typicall recommend checking out Joe Escobar in Campbell, Derco in Santana Row, Willow Glen Consignment/Jewelers on Lincoln in Willow Glen SJ...I have never been to Derco but people say that is a great place to see lots of eye-candy and I think they have alot of settings. JE has TONS of settings, trying them on was an hour or so of fun...WG is a small local jeweler but they offer personalized service and have some consignment iems as well in the other half of the store.

In terms of appraisals, you can see if Nancy Stacy in Walnut Creek can take you, she has appraised our items and she is great but she does book up so she may not be working through the holiday. Good luck!!

The appraisal/jeweler info is helpful, thanks for posting. I''ve to get my christmas present ring appraised. I''m the bayarea and still looking for a great jeweler. So hard to find one. I recently got a plat ring setting from Steve Padis at the SF jewelry mart and not impressed at all. It sucks to have to learn by experience.

hi gals, wow it''s been a long time since this thread has been revived!! i actually have been thinking every once in a while ''gee i should update my WW with some new pictures etc''...so i guess i''ll slap some in here now. thanks for the positive words skip and marcy about the WWT...that is definitely a fun place for me.

and finally after about 4 years of talking about it, we got a new car for me...a 2007 Mini Cooper S in silver with black trip and loaded with 3 packages, it''s seriously tricked out and we LOVE IT. we have been driving it all over the world it feels like. it''s super fun to drive and verra fast. i have to watch the gas pedal on this one for sure. having a new car makes me wonder why we waited so long..hehe. and this car is just so ME. it''s awesome.
