I'm leaning towards #1 because of the color and clarity and $500 lower price point. But I do love the hearts and arrows definition on the BG diamond.

I'm also a little wary of BG's recent customer service experiences shared here. At the same time, BG's diamonds seem more respected than Blue Nile, obviously. I'm not able to get ASETs from BN but the Fire/Sparkle on the Gemex report is very strong.

I wanted to gather feedback here on thoughts. There's a lot to consider there. This will go into a single halo with 18k white gold.

As you have noted, they are two slightly different flavours of cushion and I think it comes down to personal taste in the end - which one calls to you most? (And if it is for someone else, have they expressed a preference for one style over the other?)

The BGD stone should give the performance of a MRB with the shape of a cushion, whereas the BN stone is more of a traditional cut (albeit a good one, as the strong faceting should give broader flashes of white light and coloured 'fire' than a 'crushed ice' version).

Both are good finds!

You could purchase an ASETscope to test the BN stone, if you were inclined to go in that direction.
