hi, I’m still searching for the perfect diamond. Clarity is very important to me...I don’t want to see anything in the diamond79D6CB1A-1410-4D07-B161-F6C4AFEC4805.png 7ADA6EEE-D42E-4BD7-9A01-0242BA3968F3.jpeg if I’m examining it on my finger! So these are both VS1.
First one is a 2.01 ct G VS1
Next diamond will be in the comments. Thank you for all of your help!

i'd pass on both. with the second being worse than the first. Weren't you looking at some super ideal stones? Neither of these come close. Would you be open to suggestions?

These should be eye clean but neither are well cut. I think you could find better.

Neither - they aren't well cut and both have light leakage under the table. Would you be willing to post your budget and desired specs so we could make some suggestions?

Very open to suggestions. I’m trying to best by going with the recommended numbers for depth table crown and pavilion angles. :| I’m not sure what I’m doing wrong!

I am looking for a diamond that is 26,000 max. F or G in color. Vs1 or higher clarity as close to 2ct or 8 mm as possible. Faint or no fluorescence. Thank you guys

Hi NZ310
You have a healthy budget but the VS1 clarity makes it hard to stay w/ in budget and close to 8mm

size:7.95x7.98x4.92 mm G VS2
You could call white flash and see if this is eye clean to your standards: I would go gaga and it's within your budget.

Thank you so much for your response.
I have been looking at this exact one! I had them look at it for me and was told that it’s pretty eye clean to 6 inches except for a tiny inclusion visible when knowing where to look visible at the 6inches under the table. I’m not sure how I feel about that! What do you think?

it's a tough call . . . That diamond ticks off so many of the boxes you are looking for Nz . . . I would say 99.5% of the people looking at the diamond on your FF's hand will -not- see the visible inclusion They will see the sparkle and the size.

I am one of those people that once I see an inclusion I can't, -not- see it if you know what I mean.

Do you live in the states? Could --you-- see the stone in person. . . I know WF has some sort of return policy . . . ship it to you before setting it . . .
There is also this option:
https://www.whiteflash.com/loose-diamonds/round-cut-loose-diamond-3784278.htm
the wire price is abt $600.00 over budget.

Perhaps they could send you photos side by side do a in person comparison for you.

or you could call Good Old Gold. I have a hard time using their online diamond finder . . . .

So this diamond is for me =) “from” my husband haha
I’m doing all the “hard work”
Jk obv he did to earn the money
I did exactly that and had eliminated the other one. It had the same issue with something under the table and just didnt sparkle the same way. I think the inclusion will bug me if I find it at first...but would it really continue to bug me forever or will I eventually get over it bc it really isn’t a big deal since you can’t see if unless really trying?. I just don’t know.

for you . . . from hubby . . . he's just making sure you are getting --exactly-- what you want!

"would it really continue to bug me forever or will I eventually get over it bc it really isn’t a big deal since you can’t see if unless really trying?. I just don’t know."- that's the hard part . . . mmmmm will keep on looking
Sometimes SI can be very eye clean and if the inclusion is off to the side?
What about an H?

Do you have other diamonds that you would wear next to the center stone that are F/G in color?

Try reaching out to good old gold . . . I have a problem navigating their website but if you talk w/ them they could post pictures

I want this one but my husband won’t budge :cry2:

Thank you so much for your response.

Personally, I'd try it. If a trained gemologist has to look around for a while at six inches to see a tiny inclusion, I'd say that the AVERAGE person isn't going to see it at all. Try holding a ring six inches from your eye. (Measure with a ruler). Can you even focus on anything inside a stone? Who do you know that you will ever let that close to your hand? Will YOU ever hold your hand that close to your eye (other than applying mascara) in your normal life? Plus it's from whiteflash, so it's a) got a great return policy and b) eligible for upgrade at any time for just a dollar more...

thank you guys for all of your responses!!!
in the end I was able to convince my husband to go up in budget a little bit after putting the G VS2 WF ACA on hold.. because there was a beautiful WF ACA F VS1 available that I really wanted. Unfortunately, it was snatched up just this morning =( but luckily there was an even better option available - a WF ACA 1.826 ct E VS1 which will soon be mine!!!
I am getting a very cheap/simple setting for the time being - one of the WF classics. should I get 4 or 6 prong?

oooh! :appl:Please show pictures/links . . . .

I -love- the classic solitaire setting.*

4 vs. 6 prong . . . aaaah the endless debate . . . from what I have read 4 can make the store look more "square" 6 can make it look more rounded.

Often w/ a smaller center stone I personally --like-- the 4 prong option bz there is more diamond showing but you are not going to have that problem w/ the 1.8 beauty . . .

Which settings are you thinking of? . . . please post links . . .I remember reading some pricescopers have modified I think it is a white flash classic setting to make it work quite nicely . . . shaving down the knife edge part . . . tapering the prongs . . .

*(Which is hilarious bz I also love the engagement ring my DH gave to me, it's a family stone cut in the first decade of the 1900's and a platinum setting from 1919).

here it is. its reserved for me until tomorrow so please let me know if there is aaaany reason to go with something else!!

Thank you!!!

w/ that sort of basket and your 1.8 . . .my preference is for the 6 prong . . . you can ask Whiteflash: "for petite claw prongs when you order your setting."

Oh, MY! !!!

this is a great thread for how WF created a wowza of a solitaire (the prongs are more tab like similar to Tiffany)

Hope CY doesn't mind me re-posting

as well as: M2b
I chose to set it in WF's classic Tiffany style knife edge solitaire engagement ring. They were able to smooth out the knife shank, make the prongs more claw-like, and set it at a medium height. The turn around time was incredibly quick and the setting itself was reasonably priced! The end result is spectacular--the diamond is still the star of the show! (the prongs are a bit more pointy)

GORGEOUS! i would go with the 6 prong as well for a stone that size, it's a beautiful look!

thank you for your responses again! I loooove the look of the 6 petite claw prongs. the rep said it can be done but then I asked her about pairing it with my existing eternity band and having it be flush with it and she said they couldn't adjust the height on it. so for a flusher look, she said the 4 prong is the better option. what do you guys think? it sucks that I can't try it on and determine for myself but at the end of the day, 6-8mo from now I plan to buy a matching set. what would you do? if the spacing looks bad, I can always wear my band on my right hand in the mean time.

Mmmmm . . . . tough call . . . if sitting "flusher"(sry that is so not a word) on your finger is -important- to you than it seems as if the 4 prong would be the better option.

Update!
I ended up going with 6 prongs. Here is the ring! Beautiful white color. I do wish it was a bit larger but I think once I pick a setting (I want a halo), it will look beautiful. Please tell me what you think of the size on my hand!
I have started to wearing the wedding band on my right hand bc I think the engagement ring looks better without it
