Hi! I need help.

Recently I have been bitten by an Octavia. I thought I’d have a band of 5-stone made for our 10th anniversary and nobody cuts that small. So that crushed my hope and dreams.

Then hubby said why not just get the stone. Our budget is $12Kish. My goal is to get one that is bigger than our CBI e-ring (0.71 ct) which was purchased 10 yrs ago.

Any advice and/or suggestions for us.

Thank you :wavey:

The Octavias are definitely not cheap, due to all the extra cutting time needed to get them perfectly cut, but they are lovely

If you still want to consider the 5-stone, though, look at his antique-style asschers - I think I posted before, but search out the thread that @Matthews1127 started on her suite of 7 mini asschers from Yoram - they are so nice!!

IIRC the stones worked out at around $1100 each for 0.25ct, so if you have $12k to spend on only five stones and want stones a bit bigger than 0.25ct, I think you would be just fine with your budget!

Just did. He is very responsive. Sounds so sweet in his email. Thank you for recommending him.

You have my permission to tell him I referred you to him. He should know who I am....even by screen name. ;)2
He’s an extremely genuine man. You won’t be disappointed. I will use him for future purchases; he just makes this process so stress-free & pleasant.

I just did this. Thank you so much for giving your permission. His Octavia is breathtaking. He makes two videos to showcase it. If you have a 5.5 finger size, would a 6mmx6mm will give decent coverage? What do you think?

I have a 5.5 size finger . I wear a size 6 ring for comfort in the heat and humidity. I would imagine a 6 x 6 mm Octavia would give you plenty of finger coverage and it would be a disco ball of color and light.
Asschers tend to be deep and face up smaller than rounds, but an Octavia is cut differently than a regular Asscher.
I would imagine that you would probably get a combination effect, with an Octavia.
@Karl_K : you designed the Octavia, what is your expert opinion?

A typical 1 ct round brilliant is 6.5MM. So try one on and see if you are happy with the coverage. The Octavia will be smaller at almost 1/4 ct heavier.

Thank youuuuuuu.... I tried 1 ct RB and it’s a good coverage for me. Thank youuuuuuu again!

Here is an approximate 6x6 asscher on a size 5 1/2 finger with 2mm shank. Compared to a 1 carat round.

Thank you for sharing this. I feel this is a good coverage for everyday wearing.
