Hello all Pricescopers, Im beginning my (serious) hunt for a diamond now. My budget is $10k and I'd like it to be as close to 1.5 as possible G-H color SI1 (eye clean) excellent cut I would like H & A if possible.

I found a 1.45 on Whiteflash and when I ran the GIA thru price scope HCA up came USA Certed diamonds. Does this mean that Whiteflash does not own this diamond? That its just "out there" in internet land? if so, why is WF not being competitive with other vendors, it is at least $500 less if I get it through USA Certed diamonds website.

With that said I'd like to post the link to the diamond but WF does not provide a picture of the diamond anyway.

I know there are a lot of knowledgable savvy people on here with some good advice.

Thank you!

It’s probably a diamond in virtual inventory, and several vendors have access to it, including WF & USA. You can try & plug that diamond’s specs into James Allen or Blue Nile and see if they have pics of it from the supplier. Otherwise you need to contact a vendor to get images for you.

HCA doesn't tell you anythibg about vendors, so that's impossible. Maybe you saw an ad for USA certed somewhere on the page, and somehow it looked like it was telling you the vendor?

If you were looking at one of the ACA, expert selection, or private selection stones, WF owns them all and has them in house. Their upgrade policies and customer service is outstanding as well, which helps.

Aha, ok so maybe I know what happened. If wf doesn't provide a pic, then it's their virtual inventory, meaning everyone (in terms of vendors) has access to it. I don't recommend these stones bc you are buying blind, and all the advantages of buying from wf aren't applicable (stone not in house and no upgrade policy).

I might still hope that who cuts their diamonds does own them - else you tell me...

When you search on the Whiteflash site, you check a box that says "in-house". That way you are seeing the stones they have in inventory which are generally top tier cuts or nearly so. All the stones they carry will have photos and light return images. You don't even need the HCA on that site.
