I am looking at a 5ctw round diamond tennis bracelet and I was advised it is in diamonds with very good cut/symmetry/polish (I.e., not excellent). I was advised there will be about 52 diamond in total so just under 0.1ct for each diamond. They will be F/G, VS clarity.
Does the cut matter in a tennis bracelet? Should I look for something else with excellent cut/polish/symmetry? The price is pretty good and it is from a reputable jewellers.
Thanks in advance for any advice!

Welcome!

Others who know more about this style and have cross-shopped many iterations will be along.

Until then, I'll offer that photos -- of what you are considering and what you love -- would be super-helpful here. I have looked at a lot of colored-stone and Deco line bracelets. It is hard to "commoditize" a tennis bracelet and fully describe it with total ct weight and general diamond specs. The style, the number and type of prongs, the shape of each segment, and even the fluidity of the articulations all make a big difference. One example with those specs you quoted could be elegant and another could look like mall jewelry. (Yes, some malls have lovely jewelry and even a Tiffany's -- but not the malls I grew up with or live near now.)

I agree with @LilAlex above. We would need pictures, pricing or something to be able to give you any reasonable response. However, the better the cut, the better the sparkle so not sure about the very good cut.

Have you priced it out at BrianGavindiamonds or White Flash. Went with BGD, both use excellent cut stones. It is my understanding they use F/G, VS graded stones.
