So, as we don’t have a sticky detailing potential vendors of MMDs / LGDs, I thought I’d make a thread :))

In terms of ‘Pricescope-recommended’ (i.e. ‘safe’ sellers) I think the following would be correct?

Brilliant Earth (BE)
https://www.brilliantearth.com/lab-diamonds-search/
Large range.

D.NEA
https://d.neadiamonds.com/lab-created-diamonds/
Quite a large range but more in smaller sizes. Some colours but mostly yellows.
@EEFranklin is the CEO.

Lightbox (LB)
http://lightboxjewelry.com/
https://www.pricescope.com/community/threads/gia-examines-2-lightbox-de-beers-diamonds.246817/
$800/ct pricing. MRB + Princess. White, pink and blue. Limited stock that goes quickly in larger sizes. Only sold in Sterling Silver settings (I think).

August Vintage (AV)
https://www.augustvintageinc.com/collections/laboratory-grown-diamonds
Patented(?) Vintage cuts. Custom-cut stones. @Rhino at your service :))

Good Old Gold (GOG)
https://www.goodoldgold.com/lab_grown_diamonds
Mostly MRBs and Ovals. Fair range. Rhino used to work there.

I have also seen the following mentioned but I’m not sure if anyone has bought from them:

Takara
https://betterthandiamond.com/categories/Takara-Lab-Grown-Diamonds/
H&A / AGS000 Rounds. Blue and Pink Rounds. Limited sizes/stock.

Joseph Shubach
http://shopping.schubachstore.com/Diamonds-and-Gemstones
https://www.pricescope.com/community/threads/custom-cut-old-cuts-from-joseph-schubach.247562/
Vintage cuts. Unusual cuts. Custom-cut stones. May not sell loose stones?

Mohr Creations
https://mohrcreations.jewelershowcase.com/lab-grown-diamonds/
Seem to have the same inventory list as Good Old Gold (so presumably virtual inventory) but at higher prices.

In addition to the above, @MelloYello8 also found/has mentioned some other sellers:

https://www.pricescope.com/communit...-best-price-on-a-1-carat.242966/#post-4396028

https://www.gemifique.com/pages/our-diamonds
I-J SI2-VS1 only. Doesn’t sell loose stones.

https://www.1215diamonds.com/
I can’t get the search tool to work (or no inventory is on the website). States a 10% restocking fee if loose diamonds are returned.

https://www.25karats.com/lab-diamonds-search
Fairly large range of MRBs. Search tool is failing for me but does have other shapes. No pictures or videos. Not sure about cut quality – lots of MRBs with 60%+ tables.

https://www.yadavjewelry.com/
Quite a large range of MRBs but limited other shapes. Not many with pictures/videos. Cut quality needs assessing for each stone.

https://www.miadonna.com/
I can’t get any inventory list to come up but it looks like they do a range of different cuts, including Hexagon:
https://www.miadonna.com/blogs/news/7-new-lab-grown-diamond-cuts

https://renaissancediamonds.com/
Quite a range of colours across MRBs and fancy shapes. I think prices might be high compared to other options?

Am I missing any?

I know that Robbins Bros has been mentioned as selling MMDs, but I thought we’d want to focus on good value offerings, rather than price-hiked B&M stores ;-) lol

Please add to the list or comment as necessary! :))

Thanks, Athena! :)

I think I'm right in saying that some vendors sell diamonds from some of the above list - I'm sure Diamond Foundry stones are listed on some of the sites I've got in my post, so it would be an interesting exercise to 'go direct' and see if savings could be made, I reckon.

I just heard about another one this week:
ALTR
https://www.altr.nyc/
Looks like they have 10 patented cuts and a variety of fancy cuts (hearts and arrows, rounds, squares, oval, marquise, princess, emerald, pear, radiant and cushion). 0.01-4cts, white and possibly blue. I’ve only looked at the mobile site but I saw a picture that looked like a group of blues

Are any good options from the European Union for superbly cut lab-grown diamonds? Good selecion, good filtering on website, sufficient data (idealscope, certificate, etc)?

Thanks in advance! :roll2:

Gemvara, a retailer I have had good experiences with, is now including lab diamonds as customizable melee, among other things.

Just having a look through your list, Athena.

Looks like Ada actually buy MMDs and has a buyback/upgrade policy, which could be useful:
Can I Resell a Lab Grown Diamond?
Yes, there is a resale market for lab grown diamonds. Just like a mined diamond, a lab diamond is also forever and will always have a resale value. In fact, Ada Diamonds purchases lab diamonds directly from the public through our Public Purchase Program.

Ada Diamonds offers a lifetime trade-up policy if you desire to increase the size of your diamond(s) at a later date.

although they are slightly patronizing...
Why Doesn't Ada Publicly List Diamonds?
Unlike other online retailers, we do not list our inventory publicly. Why?

  1. Navigating through a database of thousands of diamonds is a difficult, intimidating, and sterile experience. You deserve better.

  2. Our expert gemologists use criteria beyond the 4Cs to curate a list of diamonds tailored to your specific inquiry.

  3. We are proud diamond snobs. We refuse to offer you mediocre diamonds.

I am in the San Francisco area and almost went with Ada Diamonds as I could view them in person, but all of the stones they quoted me were more than $3000 over the listing price on BrilliantEarth for the exact same stone (IGI, etc). It was just ridiculous

I (nicely) called them out on it, and debated following through because of the value of viewing stones in person and their upgrade policy, but D.NEA diamonds has a 1x instead of 1.5x upgrade policy AND their stones were less than BE's listing price, and SO much less than Ada. I highly recommend emailing Eric at D.NEA Diamonds to get a list of their full inventory.

I went to Agape today and it looks like they’re CZs? But very unethically marketed. Still waiting for the FTC to crack down on that, sigh.

I cannot lie, I’m pretty disappointed in the pricing from JA. It’s $1500-2000 more for the same diamond from them. I’m sure they’re selling mostly premium cuts but I paid $3200 for a stellar ideal cut diamond from another vendor. The same spec diamond from JA would be just about $4800.

Stumbled on this vendor based in Paris:
https://www.innocentstone.com/configurateur.html
https://www.innocentstone.com/contact.html

Good video, reasonable inventory (well, in MRBs, at least), actually lists prices!

Prices are perhaps a bit higher than I was expecting, but I'm not really sure what I'm expecting at the moment, what with the market being all over the place... lol

Looks like it might be virtual inventory mostly, due to saying things ship in around 20 days (!) but seem to have some nice coloured stepcuts.

I am doing a 3 stone yellow tourmaline project with 2 lab grown diamond side stones that are each .50 carats. This is a European company but they also are selling lab grown diamonds to the US. They are going to be adding some of larger diamonds next week. I had been looking at a 4 carat cushion a few weeks ago. Very good prices and that is inclusive of the shipping costs to the US & IGI report. I believe they are all CVD lab grown.

On a whim, I ended up purchasing a loose stone from Ve and Vile today. The website seems a little wonky and the only browser that seemed to work with it was Google Chrome. I will take a photo when I receive the stone.

Bummer I received an email that the stone was already sold but the inventory wasn’t updated. I’m guessing this is a new company that needs to work out its kinks.

I just bought 2 of the 1/2 carat ones on Friday. Is that what you tried to purchase?

Cool!

Please do post your views when you receive them :))

I can't get the website to work (no Chrome browser here) but would be good to have a known-quantity option :)

Hi all!
Could you recommend me please a seller of rough lab-grown diamonds? I've checked those that were listed above, but they have cut diamonds only :(

I forgot to post this one:
https://www.growndiamondcorp.com/

I think they supply (cut) diamonds to a lot of sellers.

I'm not sure if they sell rough - it could be worth emailing them.

Other than that, I'm not sure there are any recommended vendors for rough. I have seen advertisers on facebook and Instagram but have no knowledge of any of them, I'm afraid.

I am been buying a lot of moissanite and gemstone rough from Jim Buday ([email protected]). I haven’t asked him about the lab diamond rough but you can try him and see what he says.

I did check with Jim and he said he doesn’t do lab diamonds at this time. I just bought some cut 1/2 carat each lab diamonds from Ve and Vile. They have access to lab diamond rough so I asked them. The cost would be about $250-$300 per carat. They have to order as trade and then mail it to you so there are two shipping fees. I asked point of origin and it would come from China and is HPHT clarity VS DEF color. Do you have someone who can cut this? If you are interested, you can email [email protected].

Thank you so much for asking!! I will email him.

No need to cut, it will be a part of a conceptual jewellery piece for a brand I'm working for. So we will use it rough =)
