Gisler Jewellery will be making it, saw them on Instagram and love their work. They are Melbourne based and were very responsive & helpful to my enquiry.

Ooh will check them out that’s my home town

Ooo helpful for me too. I'm on the lookout for good jewellers in Australia. Are they reasonably priced @GliderPoss? I've been so burnt by crazy high quotes here.

I think it's a small husband & wife team who only set their own stones, looks like they focus on opals pretty much exclusively. I wouldn't consider them a bench as such but their work does look good. I wouldn't say it's cheap, I could have definitely spent less elsewhere but it wasn't totally outrageous either....

@GliderPoss thanks for the tip. I love Opals would love a black one one day but their fragility scares me a little.

Decided to set my smaller Jedi in a bypass ring with a Paraiba. Have been waiting on one to pop up on Desert Roses IG and that happened today. Daniel M will make the ring very excited.

Below is my Jedi

This is the paraiba winging its way to DanielM (it’s the smaller one)

To have something like this done

Few a bit queasy after the big spend of my jewel money will need to behave for the rest of the year but I think this is a good way to be able to look at these stones in a simple settings as an everyday ring.

That is going to be amazing. As the owner of that design I can tell you it is super comfortable and low to the hand. Which was my #1 concern. If you are going to wear this on a ring finger you may want to mention which one as rings like this naturally angle down and so you want it to wrap around evenly. I assume at least. I wear mine on my middle finger so I didn’t have to worry but when I do switch it it tilts down . Sorry if that makes no sense, I can send a photo if needed

@CSpan oh wow I didnt realise it was your design I saw a bypass ring of @Desertrose where the stones were the same shape and was going to do that but then she had that stunning Paraiba in a pear and I had just seen this design so I snapped it up. I hope you don’t mind me using it for inspiration

I am having it for my middle finger as well. Do you mean which stone I will wear at the top of my finger? I would love any pics of anything you think I should consider.

Full payment sent, and my 9mm Rubellite from Jeff White is on its way to the bench to be set in a flower ring pendant design.

I have had this stone since 2014, it is about time I set it!

Oh it isn't my design! Terry at Jasmine Jade drew it up for me for my pears. And then had Dan recreate it for the other ring, he executed it brilliantly!.
Here is mine.

Ok now I am even more excited this looks gorgeous. I am a huge pear fan I have 2. It’s a great design that you can wear dresses up or down. I bet you get a lot of comments on it. Can I ask what size your stones are? Mine are both around the .7 size hoping they won’t be too small. If I had bought the paraiba and Jedi I wanted I would be too scared to wear them

I do! I was worried about the colors not being as brilliant but they hold up so well and the setting makes them feel infinitely secure.

Here you go, they are about.71. They are from Brad, my dealer, er The Gem Trader :)

Do you mean spinning? I like your clean and streamline design too and would love to learn more about it.

Subtle difference, but a difference nonetheless and I am quite happy about it cuz the halo setting was an eBay steal. 18k gold preloved setting. I replaced the sapphire centre with one that is better saturated with less of a window. Size 4. Before and after pics. The before pics were from the vendor IMG_20200907_140546.jpg IMG_20200907_140607.jpg

Your sapphire ring is lovely, but the thing that really caught my eye was your band. Beautiful and unusual. I have a thing for patterned bands. Gorgeous :kiss2:

Thanks @Yelena ! This band I got preloved ages ago. It's dainty and fun!

A tiny 0.56ct deep cut burmese sapphire will be ready next week. Had my jeweler make a handmade setting for it and will solder it onto a palladium band that I already had. He melted a blob of slightly rosy 18k yellow, he then cut out a rough shape and carved it down to this. It will be curved inwards as much as the fat bellied stone will allow. Will sit flush on the hand. This stone was actually bought in Myanmar a few years ago and while buying it I bumped into two PSers completely by chance. It was very fun! 20200604_144818.jpg

The pink 0.58ct sapphire is done! Not exactly as rounded as I had hoped but good enough. The native cut meant that the bezel is slightly uneven bit a good compromise between overall shape and bezel thickness variation. It is a very deep stone so the jeweler actually set it so that the culet points out by half a mm.

The 6.5mm blue zircon is set in a scott kay palladium setting.

The 6.5mm sri lankan purple sapphire is set in a 14k orospot setting.

Today is a cantonal holiday (Jeûne Genevois) originally meant to be a day of fasting in solidarity with persecuted protestants in the 17th century... but is now a day when everyone stays home and eats! Luckily my jeweller is from a different canton so was in his atelier today. 20200910_123345.jpg

I don't have that ring with me but this sort of shows what I mean. The middle finger is equal with the two on either side so rings lay straight. Whereas on my ring finger there is a slight drop to the pinky so rings tend to list down a tad.

I'm having a three-stone ring made out of these emerald shaped emeralds. The ring will be in rose gold & I'm designing it as we speak. Each emerald is quite small but it will make a luscious bar of color all together once set!

The diamonds in the above photo were made into the sweetest bezel set asymmetrical studs ♥

icm_fullxfull.282761105_i7tixywsra8gg4w4o44c~2.jpg

I also purchased the loveliest 5mm round emerald in the last week & plan to create a very antique/Victorian or even Georgian inspired ring with it and a halo of neon pink/red spinels in yellow gold ♥

The emerald is IMPOSSIBLE to photograph but I was able capture just a peek of the color in this video. It has wonderful clarity and the color is just so saturated in person. It reminds me of a colored mirror.

The 2mm spinels I will use to halo my round Emmy ♥️

I didn't search for pearl halos but for whatever reason they were all almost predominantly in each setting that I loved!

Thank you! I was starting to think I was the only one with this problem.
I wear almost all my rings on my ring finger and they all tilt like that (yet I almost never see that here on PS).

Those Emeralds are dreamy! May I ask where you are finding them?

Thank you for your sweet compliment!
The three emerald shaped ones were purchased preloved from LT, & the round emerald was found serendipitously at a small mineral shop in my state. They said that it was old stock and had been there since the store opened over 9 years ago but that their customers never really asked about their cut stones so it wasn't brought out (they keep them in a case in the back and apparently you have to ask lol). There was mainly cabochons and then some tiny diamond melee but then there was this lush mirror like Emmy. I would recommend to hover over LT because sometimes good emeralds go by every now and then!

Wax model and CADs are ready for my moody broody drown your anxieties in merlot (i.e. grayish purple) sapphire ring! You can better tell from the CAD that the side stones are bullets and the knife edge of the shank aligns with the bullet points. All about the extra drama here! The bezels will be sleeker than shown here. I think I'll do a full blown thread when it's finished!

IMG_1060.PNG IMG_1059.PNG IMG_1062.PNG

I'm working with Simon Finlayson of Bespoke Goldsmith, based in the UK (highly suggest stalking their insta). He and his small team have been so lovely and easy to work with. As mentioned, the sapphire is from Sean Dhillon on LT.

Jeff White finished my asscher cut blue/green parti sapphire.

"The finished sapphire is a really lovely blue-green in most lights, and shifts to a more decidedly green hue in some lights (incandescent and LED, based on my study under various lighting types). With regard to clarity, it is almost completely internally flawless and much better than eye-clean."

1.60 ct. and 5.94 x 5.94 mm

A couple stills from the video:

Planning on a setting like this Leon Mege: https://www.leonmege.com/portfolio/...iamond-step-cut-diamond-art-deco-style-detail

1600280625917.png

I was thinking about 3mm for the baguette diamond halo. And all 18k yellow gold.

I recently sent a lavender spinel to Holly at Holly Hague Design to be set in one of her designs, her peacock design using purple ombre enamel. I just received word that it’s finished and can’t wait to see it in person!
