i find the tinned peaches taste especially yumo in early Autumn when they are super fresh

can you grow a peach in your backyard ?
i have a black boy (i know, i know - dodgy sounding name) but delicouse

Hmm I have a pear tree and an apple tree, but I'm not sure if we can grow peaches here? I'm going to have to look that up now!

Those are some extravagant everyday jewels, my friend! :kiss2: But I'm super into that look... I pair jeans and a t-shirt with bling often. I enjoy the contrast!!

ORANGE is next.

Haha thanks, @Autumn in New England the things we do on impulse! I have long hair so earrings are not that obvious. More like peekaboo, for fun;-);-)

French toast - count me in! I like mine with the egg soaked through. You are making me hungry, @Daisys and Diamonds, with all French toast, eclairs, plums, peaches and the beautiful summer squash and zucchini.
Hey there's nothing wrong with french toast and bacon, my friend! I wish I had some right about now, as a matter of fact.

And OMG that eclair sounds TDF. You're killing me!!

How exciting for Robert... he's quite an accomplished nature photog.

That is a sweet, yummy peach @Autumn in New England. Like @Eli22 I cannot wait to see the pairing!

I’ll take blue! I recently bought a “test sapphire” since I wanted to see what color I like. This appealed to me based on the photos, but it’s a bit dark IRL.

My attempts to coax some blue out of it outdoors:

Oh well, at least it wasn’t expensive. I think this is what one would consider “twilight sapphire”?

I was just going to say that it is a twilight! And they definitely have their place in the sapphire world. It's delightfully moody, which is really cool. And I love the cut. So, like you said, testing the waters with different colors (and even clarities - silky or crystal, etc.) is such a great way to figure out what you are drawn to and what to avoid. Sort of like dating!

You want midnight blue? Oooookaaayyy... Allow me to use this opportunity to tell you a little bit about this ring...

1653899718328.png

The dark stones are two very very dark blue sapphires (you can even see the blue a little if you zoom in on the upper stone). Very low quality, not at all transparent. The white stones are cz. Overall, not a high monetary value ring. But it has a story.

This ring is about as old as I am. When my mother was pregnant, my late grandmother was working as an ophthalmologist in Tunisia, she spent a number of years there. She couldn't be here for my birth so what she did was go out and find the prettiest gold ring she could find as a gift for her newborn granddaughter. She always wanted a daughter herself, but fate only gave her one son. She then proceeded to safekeep the ring for the next 18 years and gifted it to me for my 18th birthday. Talk about a present long time in the making!

The ring is hand forged in 18k gold and is very precious to me (almost to Gollum levels precious). I've even considered having the stones replaced with something of higher value but then I always revert back to thinking I'd rather keep it just as it is because that is how she bought it for me.

@Avondale, I love the ring and the sentiment behind it.

Another really interesting design... and I love that you paired demantoid and yellow sapphires! It just occured to me that a trilliant must be a nice cut for a demantoid, really showing off that dispersion.

Trilliants sort of demand 'interesting' designs. The straightforward 'shield' setting seems both awkward and boring to me. Trilliant is indeed an excellent cut for demantoid. But I rather suspect that it was a case of making the best of the rough...
