Leon Mege Dynasty Cushion Cut vs GOG August Vintage Cushion

I can't make up my mind between the Dynasty cut and AVC!! I would like to hear your pros and cons on these two styles of cushions!

I'm looking in the 4 - 7 carat range, and my budget is big so it all comes down to the style!

Please please please give me your opinion!

I was told that the Dynasty Cushion Cut is cut by the same Israeli cutter that cuts the AVC's.....that's all that I know about it!

My personal choice would be the AVC because it is cut to have ideal light perfomance and I don't believe Leon provides the information on his stones that GOG does. I have the highest regard for Jonathan Weingarten.

Actually my real opinion is NICE!! I would vote AVC too, but it is a very slim margin of preference given the recent lovely cushion LM sourced.

I think the Dynasty cut is more of a modern cushion? Anyway, I think it comes down to personal preference. Please post pics of your stone when you get it!

Did Jonathan say that he would have an AVC in this size range for you? I was just recently looking for a cushion, and he said he did not have an AVC in the 4+ carat range, and didn't expect to. The one he had that was larger was M color.

Have you considered a DBL branded cushion? They are gorgeous and, IMO, more authentic looking than the AVCs (which are lovely too). But that is if you want an antique cut. Do you have a preference with modern or antique?

This one is yellow but you get the idea - email him, I am sure he could get Yoram (the cutter) to cut you a huge colorless one!

Who ever finds you the biggest highest performance stone....GOG has the equipment to make sure you get the best. There are cushions out there with the right cuts that can be the chunky facet cut as well and are GIA or AGS graded. They are like finding a needle in a haystack but they are out there.

Always thought I wanted a chunky cushion but now the OEC's are my fav.
