Well, after much reading and reviewing both on here, and all over the 't'internet, my order has been placed, and the wait begins.
Clearly, HPD & Wink have an exemplary record, and indeed Layla, who has been looking after me, has been super helpful and efficient, and our ring is in planning stages.
Its a special gift for my wife for our 30th Wedding Anniversary, a super CBI 1.38Ct G/SI1, on simple Platinum ring, with 4 Prong setting, which Layla assures me is quite ok.
We tried on a few rings in the area, all very impressive, and similar Carat etc, and my wife just preferred the 4 prongs, rather than 6.
Pricewise, clearly a good deal, compared to what was available offered over here, and they were 'Standard' stones, not Crafted by Infinity, which as yet, neither of us has actually seen in our hands.
Slightly daunting sending a large sum of $$ off before seeing the end product, but having done my homework, (I think !), it seems I am in good hands.

We remain hopeful that the Box Opening finally will blow us away over what we have seen already.......

Here's our CAD sent by Layla, any comments or suggestions ?
Of course, Prongs are'nt shown as they'll be finally, just the casting stage.

I’m not sure if they specify what type of platinum alloy they use. If it is 95 plat/5 iridium I would definitely ask to change the alloy.

Thx, we hadnt actually really looked at Claw v otherwise, but I think the rounded look better to me at least, and am trusting that HPD know what they're doing to make it as safe as possible.

Thx for the link, I think my wife better look at the options !

You can also look at their Facebook page to see many examples of prongs they have done for customers. Some are very pointy, and some are more rounded. I have the claw prongs on my ering, but I’m leaning toward something less pointy for my next setting. It’s all personal preference—can’t wait to see the final product! Layla is great, I would trust her guidance!

The overall proportions of the setting are gorgeous - graceful and elegant - and will allow the stone to be the center of the attention in a mount that will stand the test of time. If I ever went the CBI route, I would definitely request Layla to assist me; she is extremely knowledgeable about diamonds and settings, and has an intuitive refined sense about design and proportion and details. Looking forward to your posts after you receive the finished ring, which I am pretty sure will knock your socks off.

If you've never seen any SuperIdeals, I think you are in for a very nice surprise when you open that box ;-)

I've been there myself, doubting if anything that expensive could look any different to what's in the local shops, but the difference is ridiculous :D lol

Well thats good to hear, many thanks. Like I say, its a huge leap of faith ! Some of the Solitaire's we've looked at in shops before were pretty impressive, so I cant imagine really what a CBI will appear like !

Thx marymm - Layla has been super to liaise with, always prompt to respond, and very explanatory and knowledgable. Glad you think the Ring looks well proportioned, apart from the 4 Prong preference we expressed, the ring itself itself is one of HPD's New York Classic's I understand.

I look forward to your comments when it arrives! :))

It’s going to look great. If I get another CBI from HPD I’m going to have the put it in the New York classic ring.

I can’t wait to see this and hear your reactions! It’s going to be breathtaking!!!!! :appl:

Do they have that on the website? I have seen social media pics of it, but not sure about the dimensions and details. There are variations of it?
