No one else is posting photos of slain children but you missy. Horrific no matter what side. I think we can all agree on that.

Before this thread disappears, I thought yesterday that your post was misinterpreted. If I was mistaken, my sincere apologies. If not, thanks.

Yes, it was. However speaking more to make my point would be against forum rules and continuing the derailment.
Thank you for picking up on how it was intended.

There's something mysterious going on.
I don't like it.
It brings to mind that phrase, "the elephant in the room", that everyone tiptoes around.

Recents posts refer to a "You know who" poster, and a "You know what" topic causing a growing PS melee.
Very disturbing!

I have noticed that once-vocal posters are falling silent, as if by an oppressive and intimidating force they dare not name.

Are these recent posts implying that, when a thread contains views that do not fit this poster's narrative/view/perspective, they intentionally post inflammatory, turmoil-generating content they know will lead to the thread being removed?

If so,
isn't that person basically censoring others?
I thought
only moderators could do that.

@Ella ???

It is beginning to seem that way, Kenny. All new topics seem to become derailed and lead to thread closure.

Folks please don’t blame one person for threads getting closed. As I’ve said before, it’s never just the actions of one person or we just deal directly with them.

What does often happen is that people see something that’s off-topic that they want to fight about and it erupts into a whole thread of off-topic rule breaking posts. That, when coupled with rules being broken will close a thread. If you don’t want to see that happen? Don’t engage with those posts.

This is very good advice and may help us all in continuing to have access to threads that we like to discuss, or even just read. I like seeing issues from multiple perspectives. I can't be well educated about every topic. So I do find I am drawn back to many threads because of interest and hate to see them go off track and shut down. So if we would all just ignore the off topic comments, it may discourage those who tend to go there. Just my two cents.

"So the administration is asking for about $170 billion in increases for law enforcement agencies doing immigration enforcement. That includes almost $50 billion for deportation camps. We're going to be spending - in about four years, if this budget goes into effect at the end of his term, we're going to be spending about 80% of all federal law enforcement on immigration enforcement agencies as the administration gets to spend this money."

Alligator Alcatraz. Wtffff
Starts with deportations and ends in concentration camps. How can this be happening!

How can this be happening

How much is the actual cost to imprison these people?
How much do we actually pay?
I suspect the profit margin is way higher than on diamonds.
Someone is making a $hit load of money. Enough to buy as many politicians as they need apparently.

Very likely for-profit private prisons, I’m guessing. More oligarchs suckling of lucrative tax funded contracts.

“This is an airport that's already there. Clearly, from a security perspective, if someone escapes, you know, there are a lot of alligators you're going to have to contend with. No one's going anywhere once you do that. It's a safe and secure as can be."

"The facility is in the heart of the Everglades and will be informally known as ‘Alligator Alcatraz.’ There is only one road leading in and … the only way out is a one-way flight," she continued. "It is isolated and surrounded by dangerous wildlife and unforgiving terrain. The facility will have up to 5,000 beds to house, process and deport criminal illegal aliens. This is an efficient and low-cost way to help carry out the largest mass deportation campaign in American history."

"Alligator Alcatraz, and other facilities like it, will give us the capability to lock up some of the worst scumbags who entered our country under the previous administration. I will continue to stand alongside our officers as they protect and defend our homeland. Make America Safe.”

I can’t tell the difference between news outlets and The Onion anymore!

I Have a good guess who you are quoting. I just wonder how many of the people that will be sent there are actually dangerous criminals, or are they just undocumented?

I don’t understand this part either. Why not just deport them to their country? It is clear there is no due process happening so what is the point of holding them!

Does everyone carry around their passport nowadays?
If ICE approached me- or you - or any of us....how would we prove we're citizens if we're not carrying our passport????

Even if we are, they can just take it from us- or claim it's fake.......we're so screwed...

Money and a feather in the cap of the once rejected and future hopeful wanna-be presidential candidate.

Well, the numbers say only about 10%.

Meanwhile, in Texas camps adults fight children for water.
Snip: Bold is mine
Families shared their testimonies with immigrant advocates filing a lawsuit to prevent the Trump administration from terminating the Flores Settlement Agreement, a ‘90s-era policy that requires immigrant children detained in federal custody be held in safe and sanitary conditions.

The agreement could challenge President Donald Trump’s family detention provisions in his “big, beautiful” bill of tax breaks and spending cuts, which also seeks to make the detention time indefinite and comes as the administration ramps up arrests.

Good question

Looks like your only option is to sue.

Andrea Velez - arrested by ICE, looking for someone else. She fought back and was charged with "forcefully obstructing" officers... from falsely arresting her.

We are actually seeing kids rescued from trafficking situations. Which is the dark disgusting under current of the open border no one wants to talk about. I would love to see some “pearl clutchers” get fired up about that! All the while screaming about booting illegals. Give me a break.

People who are here illegally should be seeking asylum or documents. Not living here after expired visas or no papers at all. Expired requires action too.

People who commit crimes, insight riots, threaten citizens (including Jewish people) should face the consequences. Including being shown the door home.

The woman who died in CO at her peaceful protest where she was set on fire by an illegal,,..where is your outrage? Oh she’s Jewish and he was an illegal. Does that make it acceptable?

The a$$ who killed Laken Reily where is your outrage? So many more examples.

The rhetoric being spewed at these “peaceful protests” is encouraging those who want to hurt others. It is toxic and unacceptable.

Instead there is a mile long thread for some guy whose visa ran out and he is walking around on college campuses spewing hate through a megaphone while wearing a a checked scarf (symbolic) with paid protestors intimidating students.

I could go on but this should be enough to bring out the wolves and divert some of the attention from those piling on….

I left PS for just this reason. Someone mentioned this thread to me. Sad. Confined watching preloved is the safest thread and to stay off hangout.

For the non-citizens. Not sure you have a horse in this race, unless you are from his home country and don’t want him back either.

So we don’t have a right to be appalled at the actions taken by others worldwide? In that case, any Americans have no right to be appalled at either IDF / Hamas actions in Israel / Palestine - see how that goes?

As Kenny has often said, people vary and they can choose their own causes to support. What angers me more than illegals being here and illegals who commit crimes are our home grown citizen terrorists and criminals who, for example, slaughter children in their classrooms for which we offer empty thoughts and prayers and flash mob and smash-and-grab robberies for which vendors can only stand by and watch their stores being emptied. They are citizens who have no respect for the rights of their fellow citizens. I know it sounds convoluted but I don't expect patriotism from undocumented immigrants as I do from our citizens who prey on their fellow countrymen.

As far as human trafficking that Mayk mentioned, the most current data is from 2022. Our own citizens are doing a bang-up job. This doesn't excuse trafficking committed by non citizens it merely debunks the myth that illegals are the primary cause.

That’s a lot of vitriol and whataboutisms lobbed in my direction when you could just say you don’t care about due process. Thousands of migrant children have been “lost” in this madness, people being picked up by ICE whose families and lawyers have no idea where they were taken to and can’t reach them, that sure sounds like trafficking to me.

What I care about about is following the process that is in place. I have written several letters for people applying for citizenship. I have also helped a Chinese national go through the green card process. He worked for our company on a visa.

That’s great, but it has nothing to do with people being deported without any of the due process they are Constitutionally protected by. People are all about the constitution, until it is supposed to protect a brown person whose ideologies clash with their own.

My comments are regarding maintaining a safe border… that is a national security issue and there are other countries coming to the same conclusions on the need to manage who comes across the borders and stays. Chaos like we saw for four years is not the answer.

Hamas brought the wrath down on themselves when they planned and executed 10/7. Let the hostages go! Defending your country is a different topic.

Safe borders are crucial. Drugs, child trafficking and who knows what other dangers have made it across our borders. It has to be managed and controlled.

I think countries that do not want their gang members back says it all.

Folks, this thread is on the verge of being closed and time outs given. Please keep it on topic and without hatred toward others.

Report only posts that break policies, not just ones you don't like.

5th Amendment

"No person shall...be deprived of life, liberty, or property, without due process of law..."

Notice it says "person", not "citizen".

That is why it is so important to follow the process to become a citizen.

It doesn’t need to say citizen. Due process is for anyone on American soil, and it’s mind blowing to me how many people either ignore this, or don’t know at all. In fact the average immigrant who has been required to take our country’s entrance exam probably knows the Constitution 10000x better than the average American does.
