#JOTW Just Engaged!! Leon Mege 1.71 Split Shank Engagement Ring

So it finally happened!!!!! My lovely fiance proposed last weekend and I couldn't be happier!!!! The ring is so beautiful....

Specs: 1.71 H SI2 (Inclusions are white and cannot see to the naked eye) Triple Excellent.

The one issue is that on our work order the ring was to be sized 4 5/8, and upon putting it on my finger -- It was way too big. Went to a few reputable jewellers and they say the ring is actually a 5.5 -- Does sizing differences like this happen often?

Regarding the size: I think this must be a mistake. If a different size clearly is stated in the work order, I would discuss this with Leon. Have you contacted him yet? Do you live in NY yourself?

We've contacted Leon and planning to ship it back this week. We are out on the westcoast of Canada, hopefully I won't have to wait too long for it.. already kind of used to wearing it now even though it rolls around so much. haha!

What kind of wedding band would you suggest to go with the ring?

Beautiful ring! I'd have a band made that matches the size of the diamonds in the main part of the shank.

Lovely ring. Congrats! Since you're sending it back for re-sizing, have you consider having LM do a matching wedding band while it's there so that you can be certain that there's no difference between the 2 rings.

Hope it won't be long before you can wear it again!
I would also ask Leo for a matching band. And you probably need a simple spacer to protect the melee. I think that will be a great look.

In terms of the band, I had a normal eternity band made and one that matches the curve of the ring.

Charmy, your ring was actually one of my main inspiration photos I sent to my boyfriend! I think your OEC would look so lovely in this setting. I am still trying to figure out what kind of band to make... How is the one you have? No issues with the shape? I am thinking of asking Leon to make me a spacer and then just add simple pave band.

I have two bands.

Band 1: Leon made an eternity band because he does not believe in wearing e-rings with w-rings. I have never worn this band because I like my band to sit flush. I do not like spacers.

Band 2: Steven Kirsch made me the chevron band that matches my e-ring perfectly in terms of curves. I get soooo many compliments on my set versus just the e-ring itself.
