After much consideration, I have decided to
have our e-ring custom made. Now I just need
to figure out where to go?

Does anyone have any recommendations for a
jeweler in the DC (N. VA) area?

I know excactly the perfect ring for her...
it''s just a matter of finding the right jeweler.
Also, I was wondering if anyone here has any
ideas about what sort of warranty a reputable
shop should offer?

Thanks for your advice.

Many have used Quest. Yiou can do a search on here for them. They did a great job on my custom ring. But other''s have had problems as of late, could be growing pains... I''d call and make an appointment and talk to Pete. He really did an awesome job on my asscher RHR. Hope that helps, good luck.

Yes, Quest in the past has been awesome, but lately does seem to be exhibiting some growing pains. I would still give them a try though, they''ve made some beautiful pieces around here.

Great idea, thanks. I''ll give them a call tomorrow.

In addition to doing a FABULOUS job on Miss Sparkly''s setting, Pete (and the rest of his staff) have provided excellent customer service since the purchase.

I did something to my ring and knocked a prong off-kilter, Pete had me bring her in on a Saturday in May and fixed her within an hour, no charge and no complaints about doing a free repair in the middle of their obviously busy spring wedding band season.

Just piling on to say...though 5 years ago...and I haven''t been so much following recent things...Pete & friends helped me handily with short notice on recreating the head for my wifes'' engagement ring. Cheaply, too.

What do you guys mean when you say "others have had problems as of late" and "growing pains"?

Do they receive nice diamonds? Are they worthwhile to work with and reliable/trustworthy?

Thanks

You can use the Search function on PS for "quest." You''ll find lots of pictures and reviews. They have nice stuff, and they do good work. Sometimes, they have problems, but no vendor is free of problems.

Quest is great, but there''s also another jeweler that''s known for its custom work, Adeler Jewlers in Great Falls. I may end up going with them when I reset my solitaire.
