Dan is incredible! Another person I highly recommend is this custom faceter from etsy: https://www.instagram.com/exotic_gemstones/
He just recut a stone I got from @colorluvr and it turned out incredible.
I feel like if I’m picking just anyone I really love top notch facetting - but I feel like I’m just telling “shut Up and take my money”Rex’s work is amazing but no idea regarding pricing.
Kerry will definitely cut as minimal as possible? I might be thinking of someone else but I feel like he cuts for precision and I’ve had people say they felt like they lost too much ctw or diameter when it was done because he’s particular
Not sure about prices or wait times, but there have been a slew of drool-worthy recuts from Rex Guo lately.

Jerry will cut to minimize face up loss from my experience. He has recut a couple for me. He’s upfront and even told me 2 of the stones I was considering weren’t that bad and shouldn’t be tweaked. All that he tweaked for me kept the same face up size after he was done. The key is having enough material to work with. A flat stone is generally a poor candidate.
I agree that regardless of who you pick, be upfront that minimal face up size loss is paramount in order for it to stay in the same setting. Sometimes just having a smaller window is enough of an improvement.
Obviously in terms of resale but my point is if ts a high ctw and minimal treatment that will be a determining factor if I WANT to recut it.If getting a lab report, do it after the recut otherwise it’ll be considered null.
I see. I don’t do it with resale in mind but for my own peace of mind, which I’d rather do with the accurate ct wt after faceting.
What’s the approximate face up mm and depth (guesstimate in the setting)?
