Hi All -

I mostly stay in the CS forum but my daughter's comment that this ring was "Bling Bling" told me to post this here.

My most recent project with Yvonne of Cecile Raly Designs has arrived and I am THRILLED.

I love kornerupines for their rarity and pleochroism - the appearance of different colors depending on the angle viewed. The design accentuates this property -- like a chameleon -- shifting colors in different lights and angles. Sometimes very saturated, sometimes lighter, varying degrees of green/blue/lavender and sometimes blending in with the diamond accents with all the sparkle. The whole thing sparkles like diamond cocktail ring. I had someone ask me if the kornerupines were blue diamonds

Yvonne and her talented CAD designer Brandy really knocked it out of the park this time. I hope you think so too.
(Also thanks to PSers for their input especially Sungura who helped supply the extra kornerupines needed to finish this design)

Oh I could stare into it forever! That is an unbelievably beautiful, one of a kind, mind blowing ring. Kornerupine is so gorgeous and your setting looks like a sparkling sea of it!

I agree, you could get lost in that ring forever. I love it. It looks really beautiful on your finger. You have just inspired me for a design for my girlfriend, because I think that is the kind of thing she would like.

lilmosun. Wow! I am thrilled with this ring on so many levels: it is an unusual design. I don't think I have seem anything like it before; you used all untreated stones; you took a risk on a "unproven" combination of gemstones; the use of so many kornerupines really demonstrates the magic of pleochroism and I'm so happy you were able to capture that in your photos; and finally it looks great on you!!! Yay, hooray!!!

I need to learn to wear it without constantly looking at my hand, stopping to snap pictures as it changes and holding it up everytime I look at/pass by a mirror. The behavior embarrassing my family and they told me I need to stop or leave it home when out with them

Derbygal - I hope you find your malaya garnet. I love them too but it's not a color I wear well. But I had been eyeing the kornerupine melee in Yvonne's store and was trying to come up with something that would go with them.

I wanted a double halo to distance the malaya from my skin but since I had to pay for a CAD anyway, I decided to have some design fun Razz-I hope you share what design for your friend!

This project was nerve wracking because there wasn't anything to really help visualize how it would come together - from the original design to working with color combinations of the stones/gold. Took in a lot of input from Yvonne, Brandy and PSers...and in the end, held my breath as I had to make each decision. So glad everyone likes how it all came together as much as I do and appreciate nice words!

While I requested that setting have "tiers" to help bring out the flower-like appearance, I think it helps highlight pleochroism of the kornerupines?

lilmosun, I just saw the completed project Love, love, love, it, especially the kornerupines which I have you to thank ( or blame ! ) for my introduction to them. It is something that I have added to my must have list. Have been searching and found a few of the green/blue/purple and several of the other more yellow/gray/green ones which I don't care for.
