Posting for a friend as he's in the market. I've used this forum in the past and it did wonders for me so just spreading the wealth here.

The objective was to focus mostly on size with having a good balance on the rest of the "C's." It'll be sitting on a 4 prong simple gold band. From my limited experience, I was able to comment on everything except the dimensions for brilliance. I've attached the GIA link to this so perhaps I can have some crowdsourced input. Any help appreciated, thanks!!!!

This wouldn't be my one. 35 crown and 41.2 pavilion is not complimentary. Also don't love the 58 table although that can work. Lastly the 80 LGFs will create skinny arrows and have a more splintery look vs bold flashes.

They are still 80LGFs, but the table and depth is better, also one have medium blue.

The first one has a 35.5 crown and 40.6 pavilion. The crown will throw alot of fire but this is pushing the upper bounds. It would be worth asking to see if BN can provide an idealscope or ASET image to tell us more about the stone.

I don't like the second one. Shallow crown of 34 will throw more white light and pavilion is too steep at 41.2.

Ideally here are the parameters you want to obtain:

• 54-57 table
• 60-62.4 depth (prefer 62 or less)
• 34-35 crown (maybe 35.5 with 40.6 pavilion)
• 40.6-40.9 pavilion (maybe 41 with 34 crown)
• 75-80 lower girdle facets

When shopping GIA stones you have to understand the reported values are averaged and rounded in a weird way, which is one of the reasons we say "maybe" on certain angles. Also if a stone doesn't have good symmetry it can affect things.

There are a few steps.to follow to ensure a positive experience:

1. Using proportions above, narrow stones to meet that criteria.
2. Use HCA calculator on this site to find a stone between 1-2.
3. Ask for help reviewing the stone data.
4. If these pass, ask the vendor for all the images possible such as still photos, videos, idealscope, ASET, hearts image and arrows image. With most virtual inventory dealers you will be lucky to get still photos and a video. Some will get you an idealscope or ASET but it's rare to find one that gives you everything (unless you are shopping.g super ideal and then that's a different beast).
5. With images in hand, post back and ask for help reviewing. If it passes then buy. If not, start over.

Ask for Chris K in Bluenile to get your ideal scope and aset pictures and he will try to get it for you. He got the images for me when I asked. I really do like the first one. The medium blue fluorescence is a plus for me, it might help make the J look whiter. Some people don’t like fluorescence tho.

I have nothing against fluor but in a very select few stones there can be a hazy, milky or cloudy look as a result. It's always a good idea to verify there are no issues when dealing with fluor.

Also, fluor stones trade for less than stones without it. As such, you want to make sure you are getting a better price than a comparable stone without fluor.

I bought my fiancee a BGD super ideal with MBF and honestly I can't tell any difference except I got a great deal and if I turn on the UV black light BGD shipped with the stone. So that aspect has worked well for us.

However, I take the color increase with a grain of salt. It may give a little bump under CERTAIN conditions but it doesn't take it up a full color grade IMO.
