It looks interesting and it may work but what the heck do I know.
I don't what to waste the supplier's time and effort if it's an easy call.
Thank you.

Inconclusive need images that show leakage. is/aset/colored background.
Not at desk to check crystal.

Thanks Karl.
I doubt images are available, I'll ask. The crystal looked okay to me but that doesn't mean much.

I took a closer look. the crystal looks ok.
I leaning towards the light return being a-ok but not 100% sure.
If you can't get images it depending on the return policy and if you want to chance it taking an in person look.
If you do, post a ton of pics and @ me :}

Wierd video - no dark camera lens

Thank you for taking the time to reply.
I've requested some images. If they are not available, I'll order it and post some pictures in a few weeks.

Better images are not available.
I'm waiting to receive a stone that I order a week or so ago. Another out of the norm cut. If it's a keeper, then I may order it but something else caught my eye yesterday.

And thanks to 0-0-0, this came last week. My wife said "I reeeeally like that".

love this one!!!!
Hard to judge the cut quality because it is out of focus but it looks yummy moving!
I think the camera just could not focus on it, worth an in person check if interested.

Edit: the other one is nice also!

Love that cushion! Don’t know anything about hexagons, but that’s gorgeous to this greenhorn’s eye.

Curious, how much was the cushion?

Love your bloodhound nose, @joe2!

The credit for the cushion find goes to 0-0-0. It was $489.00 from Calavera.
I've been watching the hexagon for a few months at least. The first price I saw was $77?.00 then it jumped to $99?.00 for some reason. After that price jump I was out. (Because I'm so cheap...cheap) I emailed Calavera and bought it for $534.00. It may be pretty nifty. Neither one is a "special" but what the heck, my wife's happy.

I have a question.
If a round diamond has an "exceptional light performance grade" by IGI, does that indicate that the CVD graining that I can see is not/will not affect its performance?

no lp grade does not take into account transparency issues.
Just like GIA

Thank you Karl!

That would be greatly appreciated. I'll try to get a hold on it before I post it.
As always, thank you Karl.

Would love to see this. I'm a bit confused as to what degree of CVD graining is practically acceptable and to what degree should be a "pass" when it comes to the HUGELY magnified videos.

And to throw on top of the "HUGELY magnified videos" is my PC monitor, it's a 50' QLED tv. Stones often appear 15+ inches tall, this one is 19" tall.
I believe this stone will be and easy pass, but others can see and point out issues that I miss.
This particular stone, with a 58 table 14.5/34.7 - 43/40.8 is normally a pass for me (I lean to the dispersion side), but the maxed-out LP grade is what got my attention.

27" monitor when I am at my desk blown up full screen.
That basic combo scores well on all the different systems.

If it shows up face up there is a lot, next see if its just one area or the entire stone. Then consider density, couple grain lines spaces apart is not as bad as looking like sand paper.

Generally visible face up means its pretty bad and likely some that your not seeing in the video but there are exceptions.

Then tilt it the min that the "video" will allow and do the same.

If there is some tilted but very little to none face up and its not very dense and in a small percentage of the stone then there is a high probability its eye ok.

Then tilt the stone more and more both ways and back and forth looking at the crystal as much as possible.
You're looking for presence and density.

The side view is generally not in focus enough to call it but sometimes it does show up if its bad.

A hold is not an option. I think it's going to get a passing grade from you Kark.
The issues look minor to me, but I do know enough to know that I don't know enough.

yep crystal is ok.
Near h&a most likely a couple small hearts but well cut.

Thank you Karl!

Thanks for taking the time to explain all of this in such detail! :kiss2:

Would a diamond with a hearts and arrows designation be preferred over a diamond with a maxed LP grade?
Can a diamond with a 58 table 14.5/34.7 crown display the same level of dispersion as say a 55 table 15.5/35 crown?

You can get both.
The maxed out LP score means that all the numbers work with each other very well.
H&A is one indication of how well the execution of creating a 3d object with those numbers was done.
A purest will seek out both.
Of the 2 having angles and % that work together is the most important.
A stone could have perfect H&A but a poor combination of angles and % and be mediocre.
A stone with well match angles/% and reasonable optical symmetry(less than h&a but not a train wreck) can still be an awesome diamond.

Based on those numbers alone, which is faster a blue or white car?
The rest of the details are very important.
That said combined with complimentary pavilion mains, lowers, stars, and uppers combos with either of those numbers can blow you socks off.

Thanks again Karl.

I'm not falling for that trick question.

Even I know it's the blue car!

Wow it is fluorescent blue - no wonder- they perform better because of the additional blue light!
