Is this bezel setting good for a 0.7 carat diamond?

Hi!

I am purchasing a round diamond between 0.5 and 0.85 carats, probably august vintage round.

I am thinking of using the setting below. Would this be a good setting? Is there something I should be aware of?

Thanks in advance for your expert advice!

I think that would look lovely.

ETA: Ask GOG if they have seen anything similar - the link you posted states that it is 925 sterling silver 18k platinum plated (that makes no sense, as platinum isn't in K...).

Silver isn't a very good choice for an engagement ring - I think you'd do better to let GOG look for one similar to this one in gold or platinum, or even custom make one for you / the stone you select. AVR's face up a little smaller than an equivalent weight ideal cut modern round brilliant.

I agree it's a lovely look, but personally I wouldn't set a good diamond in a plated silver setting. The plating will wear off over time. I'll admit that I don't have any experience with the platinum-over-silver combination, but since there's nothing in the ad to indicate how durable the plating will be (micrometer thickness, for example) my approach for something as important as an engagement ring would be to assume the worst - or at least to look for something that's more of a known quantity.

Unless your intention is to use this as a temporary setting while saving for your "forever setting"?

Agree that plat on silver is an odd combination, and if I make a setting for this I would custom-make this in full plat/18k white gold.

What do you think of its:
1. Impact to brilliance because of light blockage
2. Practicality for daily wear (e.g., durability, tendency to snag)
3. Compatibility with a wedding band

and other there other concerns I should be thinking of?

@VRBeauty - this is going to be the "forever" setting, no intentions of changing it later on. (Not a norm where I come from)
