Hi all!

I'm looking to buy this August Vintage Round from GoodOldGold. Can you please advise if this is good stone for an engagement ring?

Price: $ 3,325
Carat Weight: 0.70ct
Color: G
Clarity: SI2
Optical Symmetry: August Vintage
Polish: Ideal
Symmetry: Ideal
Fluorescence: None
Lab Report: AGS

My budget is ~4k, so this fits nicely. It seems like a good rock to me, but I think you guys would be better able to tell. Are there any red flags for this stone that I should be aware of?

Right now, the options are either an August Vintage, or a Brian Gavin Blue. Probably set in a Solitaire setting.

Help is much appreciated, thanks in advance!

Have GOG look at it and make sure it is eye clean. No red flags to me other than the clarity.

Wow- the photo of it is so pretty! Looking at the AGS report, I'd ask about the couple of feathers that reach the girdle. Does GOG think that's an issue? And I agree about asking if it's eye clean - there's a lot of inclusions under the table. But great color and cut for an AVR! Good luck!

Thanks for the reply, guys! Much appreciated.

I think I might go for a larger rock instead. =)

@ariel144 thanks for the suggestion! I wasn't thinking about fluoro + OEC, that's a great idea!

@arkieb1 that's a nice one! I'll definitely look into it. How does the Canera European Round cut differ from the August Vintage?
