Is this a good diamond? Mostly looking at the inclusions. Any thoughts would be much appreciated!Diamond.JPG

To me, the most important thing is cut ... and I have not seen this square brilliant before! Can you get an ASET scope image? Is this a diamond you are viewing in person or online? As far as colour and clarity ... well, you can’t do much better than E VVS1 ... most would say that the clarity is overkill but I’m not sure with this cut ...most would say the E colour is overkill as well, but I love the high colour. Sorry, I wish I could be more help than that. I think the best thing you can do at this point is try to get an ASET image to make sure it has good light performance. High colour and clarity are nice, but if the diamond is dull .... well ... no one wants a dull diamond, right?

For a princess cut, we really need a video to help. Aset is a nice add. There is a chip on the girdle, which I'd normally associ aye with a pre worn stone, if that matters.

Is a chip always an indication of a second hand diamond or is it a natural flaw? This is on James Allen and they say it’s natural. Thoughts?

It's definitely a natural Stone. The question is wuethrr it was a trade in or something. Trade ins don't matter, unless the stone was damaged, which I think is what @rockysalamander is warning you about.

Is there a way to find that out?

You could ask them, but they may not know as they don't own the stone. They would be pulling it in from a vendor. That said, some large percentage of diamonds you buy from any drop-shipper (JA, BlueNile, BsC, etc.) will be pre-owned from a trade. But, these are rocks that are millions of years old.

I've looked on JA and found this stone's video. It looks nice.
