This a 2ct cushion. I'm wondering if the slight fish-eye will be noticeable? I'm hoping the "actual" ASET is slightly better than the computer generated one, but the vendor can't get me an ASET photo. Do you think this will be a bright and lively diamond? I have seen better ASETs but this one happens to be a really great price for the size. I don't want to compromise too much though.

Thanks!

looks good.

It appears to be a computer generated ASET which means it is as good as the parameters that are entered to generate it, if they are rounded it will not be an accurate rendition.

You can also see the light leakage in a oval shape around the table, this gives the stone a different look which you may or may not like. All in all there dosent appear to be too much leakage, I would say it is middle of the pack.

This stone does appear to have a fish-eye. You can see it in the photo as well as the ASET. I saw a stone like this which I came close to buying a while back, but the effect was that the table looked rounded rather than rectangular/bezeled and this just made it look sub-standard.

Thanks for your replies everyone!

HoratioNelson: The link to your thread was very helpful, thank you. I was hoping when scaled down to size, that the fish-eye wouldn't be as noticeable but the stone you were looking at was similar in size and you said it didn't look good in person. I can definitely see the fish-eye in the last photo and don't like the oval table look. I didn't even know what fish-eye was until I asked another jeweler to source this stone and he mentioned it, I thought it was just because it wasn't one of his stones..

I've seen a lot of modern cushion ASETs that are very red right in the middle then less light return right around the table, does anyone know if this is usually a result of fish-eye reflected from the girdle, or do modern cushions normally exhibit less light return there due to other reasons in the cut? I think the ones with very large tables have a lot of leakage, but many of the smaller tables have fish-eye?
