Honor, hi.
When you make a post and want to add photos, click on the little diamond icon under "insert".
You can then download photos to your album and click on the photo you want to post.
When I download photos I have to...click download...wait a few minutes...click save....click the X in the upper right hand corner. Box will close. Reopen by clicking on the icon and your album should show up. Click on the photo you want.

Okay, I think I do it another way.

When you have your reply box open, look down below and you will see two tabs, options and upload attachment.

Click on upload attachment, click in white box that says "choose file" and your picture files should pop up. Then you select the picture that you want to attach, click open, then click "add the file", and when you submit the reply, the picture will be there.

The first three links you posted do not work.

Your diamond is lovely. I think 1.7ct looks good in most settings.

thank you Jimmianne and diamondseeker2006, the images are in the text box now!!

LIttleSparkle's setting is actually for sale, so it is a shame your center stone is not the same size! Both of those are very expensive settings, but I assume you are aware of that. I would personally get quotes from Steven Kirsch as well as he has been nicer to customers dealing with setting AVC's.

I do not think the stone is too small but you have to realize it will have a different look with a smaller center stone. I love your AVC, though!

diamond seeker - why is little sparkle selling her setting? where is it posted?
I have received a few quotes already from GOG and I have a message out to Mark over at ERD, Im considering CAD to keep cost down.

Okay, good idea to check with ERD.

I cannot find her listing now, but as I recall, she wanted a halo setting. She must have taken down the listing.

What a beautiful stone!!! A diamond that pretty will shine in every setting.

Your stone is not too small: a 1.7 is quite an impressive size:D
I agree with DS that it have a different look compared to similar settings with a 3 ct. As you have small and elegant hands, I am sure both settings will look great with your stone.

To give some idea of a different proportion, look at Hospatogi's ring. She has the fist design but with carre cuts by Steven Kirsch. Her stone is 1.03 ct .

very helpful, thank you.
ERD is concern about the color and does not think my stone would look great in the setting(s) I like. He thinks that the whiteness of the metal would just make the stone look dark. Its strange cause I feel like I see these setting most often with warmer stones.

I love all of those settings!

how exciting, congrats!

I don't think your 1.7 is too small. Leon set my 2.01 in the calibrated french cut, the only difference being that he used single instead of double prongs. i could not be happier both with the experience of working with Perry and Leon and with my ring.

oh for Pete's sake...I've been doing it the most complicated way!
Glad for the insight. Life just got easier =)

French cuts could be a better match with your particular stone compared to step cuts. And the color of the french cuts could be matched to your stone. In the first link you added, the french cuts are color matched to the warmth of the center stone. The french cut diamonds in my Victor Canera setting are color matched as wel (n colored frenchies to match my u/v colored OEC center stone. It's more difficult to source lower colored frenchies though.
