If the price is $3000 US, is that all i would pay if i went down to the store?

Yes, there's sales tax in Washington State on diamond purchases. I'm not sure what the exact rate is, but it's around 8.6 %??? possibly, depending upon where you buy. If you purchase ONLINE from an out-of-state vendor or drive down to Oregon there's no tax

Well, there's not tax at the point of sale. At least in CA, there's a use tax that's reported on your state taxes.

WA is different. I just checked the paperwork on my diamond and taxes were charged at the time of purchase/point of sale.

Ah, taxes suck, don't they?
