I know a lot of people would probably prefer better clarity on their diamonds. A few weeks before, I would as well. The last few days I was actually very glad I have SI1 clarity diamond and think it’s so cool!

I have to start it from my bad experience with a jeweler who could not do what I had asked him. I asked my diamond to be set to show the inscription, but the ring came back with the inscription completely covered, and a few other mistakes the jeweler did made me so upset. In addition the owner of the jewelry store told me they don’t use microscope. A big mistake of me going to a jewelry store that don’t use it... I left the store without checking if the diamond was my diamond because I was so angry with the job they had done. My head was not altogether. (I fixed my ring with a different jewler at the end.)

I went home and inspected the diamond with my naked eyes. I was able to see the little white crystal inclusion that stated on the certificate. It is an eye clean diamond, but I really do have good eyes. After that I strated to appreciate the inclusion in a diamond and changed how I view diamonds with inclusions. I used to sit home to look at my diamond feeling unsatisfied, because I was able to see the inclusion made me second doubted my diamond.

It also change how I feel about my mom’s SI1 diamond, her diamond had a small black cloud inclusion in the corner of the table that is very difficult to spot. I used to not like it because the inclusion, but not anymore. Is it weird that I am liking inclusions?

I somehow just love the idea of being able to spot my diamond even it is not in a setting, or I don’t even need a loupe to identify my diamond. If I want to double confirm then I use the loupe.

In addition, I get to enjoy it being eye clean, and save some money. What to not love about it. Tell me how you feel about SI1?

My wife had a BGD SI2 and it was eye clean from any distance and any angle. I would buy another SI2 if it met our definition of eye clean. Not sure how we would feel about being able to see the inclusion, but I do know black inclusions is a hard no for both of us. I would even consider an eye clean I1 unicorn.

I consider myself to have very good eyes. For example, I can spot where my stone is inscribed, just can’t read them. The SI1 stone I have is from Whiteflash and it met their definition of eye clean. For me I can see the inclusion if I pay attention. Same thing for my mom’s diamond. She can’t see anything, I can spot it, even it is a tiny black cloud, it is so small it doesn’t bother me much.

I would say most people won’t be able to see it at all. That’s why I like the idea of being able to see it and know it’s my diamond.

I like inclusions that don’t stand out on first glance but need a loupe to see - they’re identifying markers and part of the unique character of the stone.
You must have amazing vision to see where the inscription is without a loupe!

I think it depends on the stone...generally I prefer VS clarity but if an amazing SI stone came available and I could save money I would go for it as long as it was eye clean and loupe clean to me...

Good for you for getting a beautiful SI stone. Gorgeous bling at a gorgeous price. Win win.

That’s exactly how I feel. As long as I can’t see it at first glance I am ok.

I made a thread about being able to see the inscription, and found out I am not the only one who can see it without a loupe. Check out that thread and see what they say. It a curse sometimes because I can see too much lol.

I totally agree with you! My stone is a VS2 & faces up completely eye clean. But if I hold it up to a light source & look through the side, I can see the tiniest crystal & know it’s mine :kiss2:

For me, I like a stone that is eye clean and mind clean. As such I prefer a VS2+ clarity. Small inclusions make it unique but I do like clean plots. That said, everything is about balance and that is a personal preference that not all share.
