I picked a setting, this Tacori 2620RDP

And now I'm shopping for a diamond. I did a search for the following;

Less than $4500
Round brilliant
.90 ct or larger
H color or better
SI1 clarity or better
Polish and Symmetry Very Good or better
GIA or AGS cert

That got me 570 results, with at least 50 that have an HCA score of less than 2.

Am I on the right track? What would I look for next to narrow down my choices?

I love the 2620! For your search, I would raise the bar on somethings, like look for excellents instead of very good. But if you are working with a vendor already, you could also give them your budget and see a variety of things. For example, maybe they could get you something 1ct, or G SI1, or H VS2, so you would be able to compare and see what the differences are.

I would pass on that one from B2C as well. I believe the shallow crown angle with a large table will make it look flat

Search "cheat sheet" here. or look at niceice .com for the short list of parameters to look at for getting a good HCA score, and a modern RB with the small-ish table and steeper crown that PS generally likes. Not saying there are not pretty diamonds that do not adhere to that "cheat sheet" list, though.

Wouldn't recommend JA stone due to medium fluorescence

I disagree - there's nothing wrong with fluorescence most of the time. According to GIA less than 0.2% of fluorescent stones exhibit milky or oily effects in direct sunlight / UV light. And many of us around here actually like it and actively seek out and recommend stones w/ flour due to it's ability to mask a small amount of body color under UV light.

+1, I own strong blue... It's beautiful.... Shouldn't be a reason to say no without looking!

I'll spend some time looking at that stuff today and go back to the drawing board
