I'm extremely confused with this HCA thing?

Thanks JulieN,
It also has only 'Good' symmetry and a slightly thick girdle = just OK spread.
Shallow pendant stones look good because they are not examined from so close up.
But in a ring you may find the diamond a little dark with close inspection because your head will block much of the area the stone will gather light from.

I too have a query about the HCA. If there are 2 diamonds both with a score below 2, and one is ex ex ex vg. While the other is ex ex vg vg, is the first stone better? An example of a ex ex vg vg would be if the ca was 34 and pa was 41. And how much diff would the diff in scintillation be?

I'm so confused! So the diamond I used as a example is not good for a ring is what you're telling me? Man this is confusing!!!

Your trying to use HCA as a selection tool.
it is for rejecting - big difference.
You need to seek more info if you want to make a fully informed choice, but simply dont waste your time on stones over 2.5 or 3.

You can buy any diamond and it will sparkle.
you can buy any phone and it will make calls.

Understood. So mainly its the final score which matters, and mainly to see if it falls below 2.5 or 3. Thank you for clearing that up !
