I know this is off topic and probably inappropriate, but are you also Maria Dolores?
emteeth.gif

No, I am not Maria Dolores. Maria D is a nick I picked out of thin air; Maria is not even my name. But here''s something funny (to me anyway). I''ve been using Maria D since early 2000 when I registered at the old diamondtalk, from which I was eventually banned. Just this past summer I saw a car parked on my street (visiting) with MARIA D on the license plate. I thought -- this poor woman. If anyone remembers that place and remembers Maria D from Portland ME they are going to think she is me!

I feel like a radish.
ROFLMAO!!!!

I left last October???? Just stopped posting when I needed a break and to talk face to face w/ someone.

Lots of personal pregnancy stuff, amnio's, lost twin & a toddler in the house.

I just couldn't keep thinking and thinking and writing about it all............

I came back and was glad to see Neatfreak/Snlee and many others still here.

Now my obsession w/ diamonds has come back w/ a vengence!

Welcome back, lisa! Does this mean that the hunt for the perfect pink diamond will resume?

Oh Fly Girl how I remember those days on RT getting Garry to show us his secret stash of pinks!

I think he was just as excited as us.

And if u have any leads on a great pink I wouldn't turn it down

The hunt was so fun, lisa. You were about to book a flight to Australia to view them in person, weren't you?

Lately I have been busy spending my own money, so I don't have any leads for you. But, I will start looking, since it is much better for my pocketbook to work on spending your money.

Too true!

But then I got pregnant and Earthbound "No diamonds foh me!" by August last year.

Hmmmm....wondering if Australia is still full of pink bounty?

To your question, I would (and have, in the past) just stop posting. I think ''leave'' is a strong word, as it implies that PS is a place of residence or something. It''s a website that I go to to read and post because I find it interesting/fun, I really enjoy trying to help others looking for advice, and there are some people that I really enjoy ''talking'' to on here. That''s it. So I suppose that explains why, for me, there would be no call for pomp if I decided to stop posting, whether on a temporary or permanent basis.

As for closing down my account, again, I don''t think I would feel the need or motivation. It makes no difference to me whether my account is active or not. Probably all I''d do would be to ask the mods to please remove some of my more personal threads (like those with pictures of my wedding or jewelery).

Everyone''s different. If someone feels the need for closure, either for themselves or to provide it to their friends on here, fine. Who am I to judge?

I agree with you Musey :) I''ve gone for months, if not close to a year from here before and I didn''t feel the need to say something - honestly I don''t know anyone even noticed lol

I do appreciate what she did. I don''t know her, but I do know that sometimes we have to make a stand, draw a line, so that we ourselves know where the boundary is. Sometimes places like this can be highly addictive and it is hard to tear yourself away. If you try to slip away and people call you back... I could see the need to make the break clean without it being that something beyond what was stated is wrong.

Everyone is different :) I wish her the best and hope that she can create the space and time to free her mind and life for other pursuits.

Cerha - Just to let you know that you and your pictures of your awesome diamond were missed. You were one of the PS experts on cushions, as evidenced by this 9 page thread called "Cushion Question for Cehrabehra and Others", among others. Link

That said, anyone is free to leave as they see fit, no explanations necessary. But, sometimes it is nice to know.

Wecome back, Cehrabehra!

That''s so nice of you to say FlyGirl - I really don''t think I''m an expert on anything here though. I would like to think I helped untangle the mystery of the variety of cushion cuts and encouraged the industry to take a look at standardizing certain aspects of describing cuts and I am in full support of the movement to describe a cut over just giving it a rating. (go john go) I believe in being informed and I think I am more informed now than I was when I bought my stone... but I have no regrets :)
