I’m currently in contact with IDJ for a pair of studs. I’ve only ever tried on martinis and I wanted to ask for suggestions from those of you who have purchased from them before. It will be WG and more than likely I’m going with .80ctw. These will be my everyday pair and I don’t take my earrings off when I go to bed. Will it be an issue with martinis if I sleep with them on? I’ve read somewhere how their earlobes have stretched out due to longtime wear.

Thank you so much for the feedback and if you have pretty pictures to share, please do.

I have studs made in this style with the donut at the base. It is comfortable to wear and they haven’t stretched my piercings when I leave them in overnight.

I had 2ctw studs set in martini settings and switched them out after a year for basket settings. I found them uncomfortable and they stretched out my piercings. They were the ones with sharp point, not like the donut setting JPIe posted upthread.

I have a .50 carat set from IDJ and I love them. I did get the martini setting. However, if I were to do it over again I probably wouldn't. it is true that they can stretch out your ear piercings since they do tend dig in. But I also like them tight against my ear so they don't droop. I still think they are comfortable but just keep this in mind. :)

I do also wear my earrings 24/7. On occassion, I do take them out to clean.

If you intend wearing them 24/7 I would not take this kind of pure Martini prongs

I would suggest another style of setting with a flat back. You can then use large back which will keep them from drooping. This is what I do.

Thank you! My concern is that the basket will be sticking out too much. I’ll ask them for other options that are available.
