I've been dreaming of a new small project and I have luckily acquired some humble but fiery small stones: an old mine cut diamond and a natural, unheated vivid blue sapphire - they're both small and mighty!
I browsed the moi et toi and colored stones threads and saw that this toi et moi one appealed to me.
I really want an old mine cut in a high color and they are hard to find in reasonable prices.

My stones:
- old mine cut cushion diamond is 4.44x4.67x3.29mm (F, SI1, medium flourescence) https://ivyandrose.com/products/ant...old-european-cut-diamond-loose-engagement-1-2
- natural unheated blue sapphire cushion is 4.49x4.19x3.43mm (unheated vivid blue) more photos here https://www.instagram.com/p/CKKNc0jBejI/?igshid=1axdtdjts7ufb
desertrose_gems describes the color as "Very rare color for unheated sapphire...this intense, vivid blue Ceylon cushion is considered by many to be top sapphire blue. Like Kashmir but without the sleepy quality. Most Celyon sapphires fall into the classic cornflower blue category - this rare color is more like premium Burmese blue sapphires."

Here's the descriptions I found from this bypass thread:
This Tiffany & Co., circa 1920s, Emerald & Diamond Bypass Toi et Moi Ring in 18k yellow gold features a square, emerald cut natural bright museum quality emerald weighing approximately .37cts & a beautiful .56ct old European cut diamond. The emerald is gem quality & eye-clean. The diamond has the quality grade of G color, VS2 clarity. What a great piece of history & it shows that the stones don't have to identical in cut or type.

- Can you help me think of more setting ideas for these two stones?
- Is there something else that would be better (3 stone? 5 stone)?
- Do you think these stones are too small and I should reset and hunt for a newer ones?
