This one is 1.02 ct G color SI1 (eyeclean) ~$5500
Table 57%
depth 61.7%
Crown 35%
Pav 40.8%

6.44-6.47 x 3.98

This one is .85 ct F VS2 ~$4300
Table 59%
Depth 60.2%
Crown 33%
Pav 40.8%

6.1 -6.13 x 3.68

Im not too sure which one to choose. Both are priced very nicely. If i am going with the .85 ct it will have pave band, while the 1 ct will have a solitaire, so both comes out to a similar price.

Thanks

The first one is a little better cut, but it appears to have a little leakage in the center. You want the center to be more red. I don't like the cut on the second one. I think you can do better than both of these, but if I had to choose one, it would be the first one. I would prefer VS clarity, though.

These are measurements to help you stay in ideal cut territory with a GIA excellent cut stone.

table: 54-58

depth: 60-62.3

crown angle: 34-35.0 (up to 35.5 crown angle can sometimes work with a 40.6 pav angle)

pavilion angle: 40.6-40.9 (sometimes 41.0 if the crown angle is close to 34)

Thank you .
I like the first one too but I am just worried that the light leak in the center will effect the stone too much.
I actually haven't seen this one yet so Im not sure how it will look in person.
the .85 ct is actually very nice as it sparkles a lot even with the the proportion not in the ideal range.

So if I do keep the .85 with pave shank I will possibly upgrade the stone in few years, while the 1.02 ct will be on a temp setting and will most likely be change to a perm setting next year and keep forever.

Not sure what to do. she thinks that I will be getting her a ring somewhere around .7 ct so I think she will be ok with either one. Would there also be noticeable difference in size of the two?
