I can't stop looking at eBay. And while I thought I was relatively safe because I have a love for eternity bands (that generally can't be sized) and I wear a size 3 (3.25-3.5 on my right hand), I happened to stumble across this listing.

Um, I really don't need this ring. I just did a bunch of ring shopping for my anniversary. It's just that it's sooo pretty. And it's in my size. It's probably a good thing it is way beyond the price range of an impulse purchase. If it were more in the $1-2k range, I'm afraid I wouldn't be able to stop myself. In the meantime, I keep looking. And looking. And looking again....

It is very pretty. You might want to think about making an offer (ducks head!) as there aren't a whole lot of people in the general population that are that size. You might get lucky!

bid ONLY what you can afford $2k? and leave the rest to fate.

I thought about that... It's so waaaayyy below what even the diamonds are worth. But I guess it just depends on how good of a price the seller got it for and how intent she is on selling it intact vs. breaking it up... It must definitely be hard to find a buyer in this size. I'm thinking :ugeek:

You have nothing to lose by trying (other than $2k!)

I'd consider that an amazing deal / investment rather than a loss :D

Is it really? Tiny secondary market marquises aren't worth much, I don't think.

Hmmm... maybe not. I am definitely not an expert...

I agree - bid what you can. Its a beautiful ring and not many people wear that size.

This.

Yeah I'd make an offer and see what happens. I know it's a signed piece but $6500 for 2 ctw seems very overpriced!

It's stunning. I'd make an offer and then see what happens. Have you bought from that seller before? You may want to also consider "hassle factor" in the event it isn't what you want. But, if you know them and are confident you'll get what is described...then go for it!!

Beautiful fnd! If you really want it offer what you can afford/want to pay and see what happens...

OK -- thinking about placing an offer. I fully expect it to be rejected, but I just need to make sure I'm good if it gets accepted :P My dh has been so supportive of my zaniness lately (I went on a hunt for a 15-year anniversary band and ended up with 4 rings). Not sure I can make it 5 without him seriously considering having me committed (Ok -- just kidding). It's not the money per se. This would not put us into debt or anything, but it's starting to seem a bit... super-extravagant?

I wish I was a size 3.5!!! I'm huge at a 6.5!! Oh the jealousy!! let us know what you decide!

It's a blessing and a curse! I've been trying to use it to my advantage since with custom rings, I can argue "fewer stones!" "less metal!" and try to get a good price. But there's never anything in-stock (unless it's vintage) and most places (even places like Blue Nile) will not accept returns if they make a ring in this size. But overall, it's added some challenge to the hunt, and also gives a sense of fate to my purchases. Like, "whatever woman wore this ring had tiny fingers like me and she would *want* me to have it"

I LOVE LOVE LOVE that ring!!!!

Absolutely stunning ring. I agree, bid what you are comfortable with and hope for a great outcome!

I would just love to have that ring, it's truly gorgeous.

OK -- so I made an offer. It is so astronomically lower than the asking price, I am not expecting anything to come of it. There's another offer out there too, so I guess we'll just see what happens. Like you all said, I'll leave it up to fate ;)

I'm rooting for you!

The offer on 8/22 says pending and the one on 8/23 says declined.

Oh yeah, you're right. I thought I'd get an email or something.

Just as well. Now I don't have to have the "Honey... I got another piece of jewelry" conversation!

If you are patient good things will come. :)
