Some changes:

The new pictures don't scream leaves and flowers to me. If you were interested in some other inspiration images, here are a couple.

I love the leaf in this picture from Greenlake:

From Adzia (Etsy), I think the leaf flower portion would look wonderful in the basket:

Since you were interested in swirls, I'll throw in another from Adzia:

What if you did another tiny circle bezel and have each point of the cathedral meet one side of the bezel? So it kinda takes the place of the bar in your current setting?

I think the latest version will work better. My only concern are the pieces that apparently go across the doughnut and then back toward the diamond. I'd have to look back and see the placement of those on Haven's ring.

Okay, see on Haven's how those curly pieces do not lay in front of the doughnut, they go above the doughnut. I am not sure it is going to work with the curly pieces and the leaves pieces. As you can see, with her curly pieces, she only has room for a bar. On the other hand, I guess your diamond is larger and maybe it can fit better. But I wouldn't have the curly pieces sit on the outside of the doughnut. It looks good in a 2 dimensional drawing, but I don't think it will look right in reality.

I think I understand what you are saying and I agree...not sure if there will be room for the design. hmm...this design is becoming quite the headache. :nono:

I prefer your existing setting. It's classic and elegant and clean. And it really makes the stone the star from the top, but gives a lot of bang for the buck from the side.

I don't care for the new design as much, and can see getting tired of it. But... that's just my opinion. I think your existing basket is perfection. Add a donut, do two-different metals, but keep the basket design as it is.... that's my vote.

Gypsy, :wavey: thanks for your opinion.

I slept on it and woke up feeling like it's a bit convoluted...too many problems to deal with both structurally and aesthetically.

Back to the drawing board I think. Hera (on PS) did an amazing photoshop for me of my current setting in different two-tone modes. Basket and prongs in plat, just bar, etc. Nothing really looked right....it all looked forced. I think two-tone can be so difficult to do right. Anyway, that is why I originally started playing around with the design...trying to find something that flowed better. The 3 tone came out of nowhere.

Okay...I don't give up THAT easily. I drew up something else. Can you tell I want my diamond back!?! :naughty:

Trying to tie in the 2 metal colors is difficult. I have NO photoshop skills so I pretty much just colored it to get an idea if it would flow or not.

I like it from the side...I think it flows nicely, but from the front...meh. I feel like the bar (which never got milgrain) is too much or something so I played around with some milgrain bezels.

Not sure what color the donut should be WG or YG.

It looks like Santa Claus here, but you get the idea...

I posted that new idea way too quick. I think my sense of scale is WAY off since I am not looking at my ring in person. Pretty sure bezel set diamonds won't fit where the band was. So, maybe just milgrain the band.
