Hey there,

I can see the tiny flaw in my SI1 diamond, and it doesn''t bother me one bit. I can''t see it unless I''m looking at it through the loupe, so to me, that makes it eye-clean. I have showed the diamond to various friends and family - I also told a girlfriend of mine who''s currently picking out her engagement diamond to see if she could find it (she wasn''t sure if she should go down to SI1 in quality) and after examining my ring in several different types of lighting & holding it right up to her face, still she couldn''t find it - she has decided to get herself a bigger carat weight & lower clarity after seeing how nice an SI stone can look in person! So, I know where it is, and I can see it when I really look for it. But like others mentioned, a diamond is a natural part of the earth, and so a tiny flaw that no one can see but me through a loupe doesn''t spoil its beauty for me. Personally, I''d much rather have a high color low clarity than the other way around, but that''s personal choice.

And if my choice was a half carat D IF or my 2 ct G SI1, I''ll go for the bigger rock any day

Wow I just love how friendly this forum is!

I troubleshoot my life on forums like this. Nowadays, if you have question about anything you can usually find a forum online devoted to the topic. I have been a member to countless forums with topics on everything from my career, to my dog''s dieseases (and he has a few!) Anyway, this is by far the nicest forum ever. Everyone is so helpful and informative, and super friendly.

Ellen- That diamond was hideous, but I''ll bet if my ring really looked like that and I posted it here, people would still find something nice to say about it! But I''m glad it doesn''t!

So I figured I''d better post some pics of my ring before you all assume it looks like the ebay ring! I am looking for a wedding band (or maybe 2!) Right now so I can''t wait to post again when I have my set.

Oh stop it now!

Now I''ve given you guys a "where''s waldo."

But I know its not noticeable unless you are REALLY looking. These pictures have it blown up, so its worse than it really is. I know non of my friends could see it. And definitely not someone that just glances at my hand.

I couldn''t find it hunting for it. Mia, your princess is gorgeous. It has obviously great light return, and a beautiful look. I could probably have a difficult time finding that inclusion in person with an hour to kill and a loupe.

I''d be too busy looking at how pretty it is.

Hi Mia!

I am glad you like it here! Your ring is gorgeous and I can't see anything flaw wise either! Is it an I1??

Flaw is a bad word.
It means your diamond is damaged goods.

But you already know you have a built in ID system.
You also have a freak of nature - a mineral that either grew with the diamond, or was swalloed up by it as it grew and filed a space.

If you choose to, you could become sad when your eyesight no longer is adequate to allow you to see it. If you and your man are still together then you can celebrate the time your relationship has passed the test of becoming flawless.

Well, IF anyone said anything, you''re probably right.

However, if you posted that it would be much more likely to just hear a bunch of crickets chirping...

Your stone is just gorgeous, really! And I love the simple setting. That''s my kinda ring! Oh, and I can''t see the "birthmark" either.

Mia, I don''t see it either, of course I''ve never been great at "where''s waldo!"

Looks to me like you have a beautiful well cut princess!

Garry, That is the sweetest way ever to look at it!

Ok I have looked and looked and I still cannot see it. I can usually spot them from a mile away. I think you have a beautiful diamond and you should be proud to wear it. OW get one of those princess cut channel bands, it would look stunning with that stunning ring!

What you have there is a GORGEOUS diamond. And I don't see the flaw at all?

I have an SI-1 with a feather, and I've never been able to find it. Then again, I haven't louped it, nor do I care to. It's there, but as long as I can't see it, it doesn't bother me a bit! It makes my diamond my diamond.

I tried to reply (sniff).... My browser was at fault (just another flaw, I guess!)

What I meant to add, was:

After a long time lurking, I must peek out of hiding and admit that I, too, am FLAWED!

Or, at least my diamond is. He he. And I love it that way!

I "broke" my original engagement diamond last summer, and it was heartbreaking...I went through the "Is this a sign that our marriage is doomed?!" and much female PMS-driven drama. Well, NO...it''s a sign to NOT wear your diamond on the treadmill where you will undoubtedly BANG it against the metal rails! DUH! (I was never a diamond gal, I knew not of these rules and things...).

So after my self-chastising subsided, I began to get excited. We got the insurance check (insurance, people, insurance is a GOOD THING!), and it was time to go shopping.

A trusted family friend (where my original 1.56 ct. round, I color, VS2 stunner came from) called us and told us to get in there right away. He had THE STONE.

Oh boy did he have it. 2.01 ct. round, F color, SI2. And it sparkles like nobody''s business. He recreated the original setting and it''s like I never lost MY ring in the first place. Except that this one is...ahem...bigger. And flawed. It''s perfect for ME, even if it has the dreaded black spot. And I fell in love with that black spot. I know it''s there. I can see it, but no one else can (believe me, I have pointed it out on occasion and no one has caught it...so it''s now my little secret that will go to my grave...or whichever niece gets her hands on it when I croak). I wear it oriented a certain way every time (pointed toward my heart...awwwww!). That little black spot is slowly converting a cynical gal into a softie.

Sorry for the long-winded confession, but I was delighted to find out that there are lots of us out there who are FLAWED! You guys rock! It reminds me that nothing is perfect in this life, that we are all a bit rough around the edges and to expect perfection is sometimes a losing game and life is just too short!

Someday when I learn how to upload photos....I''ll share.
