I got a D

GemFever,
It's a very pretty diamond. Congratulations!

I can see the difference in cut with a smaller OEC. I think that smaller has smaller facets, almost looks like it has more facets. And it makes it appear brighter. I think you were looking for a chunkier look though, right?

I think that both of them are equally beautiful, and they prove the fact that no two OECs are alike :).

P.S. I'm biased to Ds and I really loved your D diamond.

From photos alone it looks like a very nice performing classing OEC. Better not to analyze too much, these old cuts cannot take it IMO.

Inna, I have to agree, the D was nice. I got used to it after a while, and I was a little sad to send it off. But I do love the pattern of the OEC more. And the fact that it keeps me on my toes.

Dreamer, I think you're right. I'll just move on to enjoying it. As soon as I can set it, that is... Having an unset diamond is torture. I dunno how you're doing with with your three-stone! I haven't reached that level of zen yet.

MimB, I'm sure the D is noticeably whiter than the J, but without having the D in my hands to actually compare side by side, I can't see the difference too much. But I do remember what the L looked like, and that was definitely a noticeable difference to me.

I like your gold ring setting, may I know what is the name of setting ?

and my I know what is the spec of diamond mounted in gold ring setting, looks awesome too

I am buying diamond and planning to set it in local jeweller in my country

Thank you

Hi dicxz,

I got the gold setting at Good Old Gold when I was in the store (but they hard to order it in yellow gold from somewhere). I'm not sure what brand it is. The stone that was set in it is this one: http://www.goodoldgold.com/diamond/9468/

Or, if you are talking about the smaller stone, I got that at a vintage jewelry shop.

Good luck finding your perfect setting!

It's done! I promise this is the last time I'm resurrecting this thread, but I don't want to post in SMTB yet, not until I have better pics, which may be a while.

Anyway, here it is, in a 6-prong 14K yellow gold setting. A friend who visits the diamond district got it done for me. It's inexpensive and simple, and perfect for me at the moment. Also pretty low-set, like I wanted.

I am absolutely in love with this stone. It's a sparkler, and its whiteness doesn't seem to be affected by the 6 yg prongs.

The End :wavey:
