Hello please could you post your I coloured diamond ring photos for me to see as im currently looking into buying an I coloured ring soon.

Could you please explain what you think about I coloured diamonds, do they show much yellow? Do they look sparkly? Do they go well with 18carat white gold? etc etc.

Thanks very much i look forward to the reviews on I coloured stones and the pics!

<------- My ring is an I, according to the appraiser. It was sold to me as an H, and I don't have a cert for it. It's also set in 18K white gold. I think it looks pretty damn white and it sparkles like mad!!

Here is a photo of the I color diamond I used to own (traded it in for a G recently). It's a 1 carat stone. It had strong blue fluorescence. In 99% of lighting conditions, my I color stone was white. I saw a slight tint only when comparing my diamond to diamonds of a higher color (then it was quite noticeable). Very rarely at certain angles or under certain lighting conditions, I would see a slight tint. But it's very hard to tell if what I was seeing is the actual "color" of the diamond or if what you are seeing is the diamond reflecting colors in the environment.

The setting in this photo is 18 kt. unplated white gold with yellow gold accents. I think I color diamonds can be set in white metals and look great, especially face-up. If it is a large stone, and the setting is very open on the sides, you may be able to see a slight tint when you view the diamond from the side, depending on how color sensitive you are. But, in general, I color stones, graded by GIA or AGS, are very "white" and are great values price-wise.

I have a I color princess and I have never seen any yellow at all, not from the top nor the side....

My e-ring is an I-VS2 X-factor princess from Whiteflash. I see absolutely no yellow. It is white from all angles, and I have it in an 18k white gold Tiffany style setting. It's also an excellently cut diamond, which makes it sparkle like crazy in all kinds of lighting. The only thing I'd worry about is getting a very included, poorly cut diamond.

Here's a thread about I colored stones. My ring (see avatar) is also an "I" and I don't see any color in it, under any type of lighting. However, I'm sure if I put it next to a "F", I'd see a difference. Since we don't do typically do that, I think an "I" is a great choice!

I love your ring, yenny! Didn't know it was an I-color. I want my eventual upgrade to also be an I-color, as well. More bang for your buck. :naughty:

Awww, thanks RubyBeth!

Keep in mind you can't judge diamond color in pics.
This site is full of yellow-looking Ds and white-looking Ks.

You need to judge diamond color in person.

Totally agree with Kenny. Every stone is different and you need to see it in person.

I agree with Kenny too--you should go look at some well cut "I" colored stones. I attached a few photos of my I. I can see body color in my diamond from certain angles. Remember--cut is king!

I have a 1.57 ct Eightstar in 'I' color. Definitely not yellow, but a softer white than my 'D'.

There's another thread in SMTB dedicated just to 'I' colored diamonds.

Although I have no photos , my rb solitaire is 'I' colour and I currently wear it with two 1 carat channel set eternity rings, and both of those are a mix of G/H and they are perfect together and my solitaire looks white next to them. Btw they are all set in 18k yellow gold which would show up some colour if there was some but they are lovely -- not icy white but beautiful.

My old I (2ct) w/ H sides in plat

Larger stones will concentrate more colour, so you'll find a 2ct I looks more tinted than a 0.5ct I..

Next to higher coloured stones I could see the tint, but by itself I wouldn't have called it anything but white.

Thank you so much for the photos thats made me feel a lot better about buying an I coloured diamond ring
