I'm just wondering if anyone could show me how to take closeup picture of my ring. I am trying to take picture of the ring setting, but the camera (or phone) could not focus on where the diamond is. It is very blurry..

I can take a picture of it from far away....also anyone want to guess the size of my diamond?

Look up MACRO in your camera's owner's manual.
Often there is a setting with a flower that puts the camera in the MACRO mode.

Next use the brightest light possible, this will cause the aperture in your camera to close down, which increases the depth of focus, allowing slightly closer focus.
Experiment a lot; there's no film to pay for.

What make and model number of camera do you have?

In the same vein as the photojojo, if you are trying to do this on your phone anyway...olloclip for iPhone4/4s

But Kenny is right, on a real camera, the macro mode.

I've already tried this on a real camera using macro mode still blurry (I have a canon s90).
I'm not sure how to change the lighting and cause aperture to close down..but I'll play with it...
thanks!

What kind of camera do you have?

Yep, like Kenny said, Macro lens/ setting is best.

If you have a camera with automatic settings, with or without a macro lense, your camera is going to focus on the part it sees with the most contrast, which could be the background or the ring, or the freckle on your hand....sigh. If you look at a lot of blurry photos you can see there is focus somewhere it's just not where you want it. This might help: Take a small piece of white paper and put a black dot on it, then put it on your diamond and take a photo (the camera will focus on the black dot on white paper). Now leave the camera in the exact same position, remove the paper and take the photo again. Sometimes that works and sometimes it doesn't--worth a try anyway.
