B.E.G.--that is my dream diamond, too! I am sad to see it on the inventory list again, because I know someone is going to snatch it up!

HI:

Round in a 6 carat? No, but anything 3-4 (ctw. RB) DIF would suffice. You asked!

cheers--Sharon

I would like a 3 ct OEC, vvs clarity, G-H color, small culet and table and everything would be PERFECT for life!

I encourage you to go for it.
I did, and I'm so happy I jumped in.
Pics do not do them justice; when you move them in light they come alive unlike any other colored Gem.
Combine the optical properties of real diamond with color and you have the ultimate decadent indulgent gem experience.

I've started my own tiny collection of them, and I don't even feel the need to get them set.
Yesterday I added the Orange-Yellow heart to our collection in the pic below.
All of these are from Leibish Co. www.fancydiamonds.net

I like to stick to FCDs with GIA reports and return them if they do not have good sparkly light performance.
FCDs are cut for weight and to strengthen the color, not for light performance, but heck why not get good light performance too.
It IS possible if you keep looking and learning.

Leibish has fancy colored diamonds of sizes and colors that will fit every budget.
I used to think only people like Jennifer Lopez and Oprah could afford FCDs.

Under 10k US dollars... believe me or not, but my dream ring is a diamond band, five H&A diamonds or five Octavia asscher diamonds, 0.5 ct each, F color, VS clarity.
More realistically, under 3k US dollars... I would be happy with an eternity band, round or princess diamonds, 10 pointers each, F color, VS clarity.

Hard question. I'm a setting person, so I don't tend to think of stones out of context.

If it was my dream RING, then it would be 3 carats to 3.5 carats in a square cushion or a an emerald cut. F color and eyeclean (so ideally SI on the cushion, VS on the emerald cut). Cushions and Emeralds tend to face up smaller compared to rounds.

My two 'dream' rings are:

Mc2-- the setting alone is 8-15K. I'd try to see what it looked like with the colors reversed on the gold because I'm not that much of a yellow gold person, for myself, but if it didn't look as good I'd be perfectly thrilled with this setting the way it is (and with this emerald!)

Leon 5 stone cushion. This cushion is 3 carats and a D. I just adore the finger coverage and the contrasts of the cuts. I've seen this setting with other cushion shapes (more oval or more rectangular) and I really prefer the square cushion with this... with modern facetting but not splintery. And I might prefer step cut half moons or cadillacs as side stones. It depends.

My dream (that will never come true):
a 7 mm round diamond ideal cut (1.27-1.30 ct) D - IF set by Damiani in the Minou setting 6 prongs

I've see and touch  (in real life it is spectacular) the Minou with 1.50 H-IF, the cost: 38000 euro (50890 USD), so I can't immagine the price of a D-IF , maybe 100.000 euro (133922 USD)? :errrr: :$$):

Wow! That Leon pretty much sums up my dream stone. A 3ct vintage cushion or AVC, D, E or F in color, VS1 or better, but in a Memoire Purity eternity band type setting or JBEG's Sophie with pave.

Interesting how many folks have the "5ct EC" as a dream .... I was thinking 5ct authentic antique Asscher, vvs1-vs2, f or g (would take a lifetime to find!) .... OR ... a 3-4ct OEC in an elaborate gothic pave setting like Kyle on RHBH has. Man I love that crazy thing.

Since I  own a 5 carat Emerald cut Evs, I must say its pretty much my dream stone. (not sure what they cost now) I think its very wearable --compared to a 5 carat round.I wear it every day. If I purchase any more diamonds it would likely be a pair of old euro or miner stones for earrings.

If I had all the money in the world?

A 2-3 caret vvs or better intense blue diamond with a chunky faceted cushion cut.

My K AVC is like buying a 1 ct diamond and getting a half ct for free! At least that's the way I look at it. And look at that culet. It's huge. It's exactly what I want. Why, oh why misspent youth, didn't you save the money for this treasure. I implore you good members of PS buy this diamond so I don't have to look at it anymore. ;(

I have to say I usually like the most simple hardly-there settings but this one is really really classic and superb.

Bluenile shows one in the virtual inventory.

Only $128,193.00

They also have a 2.51 D IF if this is for earrings.
They have free delivery, if that helps.

Honestly, I probably wouldn't go for much more than what I already have. Right now I have a 1ct I/VVS2 super-ideal princess with no fluor. My dream upgrade would be an equally well-cut princess, around 2ct, D-F color, with strong or very strong blue fluor, with a L:W ratio close to 1.0.

These come pretty close:

ETA: At these prices there's no way I'll ever be able to get these, but one can dream! My diamond was under $5000.

Since I already have my dream ring, I'm picking a pendant - either THIS 15.78 Carat, Y-Z, VS2 Pear set in a very white halo or THIS 0.61ct Argyle Fancy Vivid Purplish Pink set kiteways with a south sea pearl drop (but SI/VS instead of I1 clarity)

If $$$ is no object, this canary yellow cushion is what I would love to have in a ring instead of a pendant! About 8-10ct, no idea what it would cost but one can dream......

I would not want to go above 2.5 to 3 carats for a center stone. As long as we are dreaming, I'd like a D, IF diamond as well. =)

My DREAM would be a pair of 2 ctw diamond stud earrings. I'm pretty conservative with jewelry but would for sure wear those about 4 days a week. Would like ACAs - F/G color VVS1 (or yeah, SI1 is fine too:)). Platinum. I don't know how much those would cost.

ETA - Does this have to be a dream ring...There are a lot of stones/rings i like, but if I were to put any $ into jewelry *at this time* it would be earrings. I may want something else next month, though...

There's a gorgeous 4 carat-ish AVC cushion up on GOG: N color, VS clarity, in the rough vicinity of 30Kish.

I'd happily go a carat lower and a color grade or two higher for something like a J, VS, 3 carat cushion. I'd set it in a Van Craeynest setting, and I'd call it George (and I'd hopefully be able to get it in under 35 K including setting).

Ah, happy dreams ....

http://www.goodoldgold.com/diamond/7145/ <<this one? It's my dream stone

Setting, I'm not so sure, but if I had this diamond, I'd find a good setting - no worries there.
