Last year was a big year, I got my new set for our 15th anniv, but DH bought that for me. Actually, now that I think about it, I never spend money on jewelry for myself. DH has bought all of my jewelry since we started dating. Last year's purchase was the only time I've had hands-on input w/design details, etc but he set the budget and later pushed me to get much more than I'd originally envisioned (actually "push" is too strong of a word, he more like "nudged" and I was off and running w/out looking back) .
Ah, you got lucky, Roxy! My husband thinks that my engagement ring should last me my whole life in terms of jewellery gifts!

I've mentioned a few times on PS that my husband doesn't buy jewellery, but it's fine because he buys me lots of spa vouchers and tells me he loves me all the time, and gives me lots of cuddles and affection. Yes, I wish he would buy me some sometimes, of course, but he's perfect in all other ways. Also, (whisper) he really doesn't have the best taste, so I buy it myself and that way I love everything I have.

Yup, this is mine too! Well, substitute books and hobby tools and kitchen gizmos for the spa vouchers. He'll sometimes surprise me with pieces several months after I comment on them, which is really sweet, but he wouldn't buy me anything pricey that I hadn't previously opined on in some fashion. He's perfectly fine with me buying things on my own though, and I always ask him what he thinks of this/that/the other and credit him with excellent taste when it comes in
How much I've spent in 2013... much less than I spent in 2012! I had a couple of bigger projects that spanned 2012/2013 but the majority of the expenditure was up-front so that reduces the 2013 total. I've got my "dream collection" - E-ring and studs - so now I've got no real plans. There are a few things I'd like but there's no hurry - of course, thanks in large part to you Smith I've developed something of an attachment to a couple of Cartier's collections so those "things" either come with pretty premiums or have been discontinued and are going to take several months trawling the vintage market to get hold of![]()

Sorry, Yssie!!
But....if one of the collections is the discontinued Entrelaces, then E.B. Horn in Boston has a white gold Entrelaces necklace for $1350.It's the plain metal kind consisting of the twisted-wire look, no diamonds. Will you please, please, please buy the damn thing so that I can stop wondering if I should? On the one hand, I think it's too much money for plain metal, but on the other, I do have the matching ring. If you got it, I'd be put out of my misery. It was there a couple of months ago and the stock often doesn't turn over that fast, so I bet it's still there....
