I think that the term "SuperBowl" ring is used to describe really big rings because they resemble a Superbowl ring in that sense (i.e. REALLY big). The Superbowl is last game of the year in American Football and the winner is the Champion! It really is such a big part of American culture lol!

Not sure how big it is outside of the states, my family in sweden know what it is but only because they use to live in the US... you should watch it this year!!!

I might be the minority here but I would break up and recycle your dome ring and do several eternity bands. I guess for me personally I would never wear something that bulky so I love the idea of doing many different stacking eternitys. However, if you want to keep it in tack instead of another diamond I would throw a CS in there to give it a pop of color!

Love your studs I am looking to upgrade my studs and I noticed that you went for ideal cut and clarity but were willing to go to J-K in color. Do you feel the color takes away at all from the sparkle. I have a 10,000 budget and I want ctw 2.20 stones and with that budget I have to go I-J color I1.......

I was actually thinking about making chandelier style jackets for my earrings last night... totally aside from whether to use the stones in ring setting..but that is a great idea! I didn't want to break up the ring to make bands because I feel I could find bands that were already made.. etc but the ring is so unique I didn't want to destroy it...but IF I were to make something equally unique and special out of it - like chandelier earrings that I designed - I think it could be worth it! Great Idea!! thanks!

I went with cut over color because I feel that an excellent cut round brilliant stone faces up whiter ... even in a lower color.. So for me I find that even a K color faces up very white in 95% of the lighting... Only in strange indoor nighttime lighting can I see a very little amount of tint face up.. And in my opinion the face up is what is important in earrings because they sit on your ear rather than on your hand where you can examine it at all angles. Also the 8 - prong setting I have it in really helps because you can't really see the side of the diamond like you may if you had the more open 3 prong martini ( I am not positive on this as I do not own a 3 prong martini..so just speculating..maybe someone else would like to chime in on this...)

Also I have to add that although I am color sensitive (in the sense that I can usually spot color right away) I personally find that color does not bother me...I dont know why and I am probably the minority in this but I find that a little color adds something extra and beautiful in the sparkle of the diamond (just my own personal opinion).. BUT I find that I am EXTREMELY clarity sensitive...and for whatever reason it kinda bothers me... SO you have to decide what bothers you and what doesn't ...

But a well cut J or K faces up really quite nice and white... but if you are really color sensitive AND it bothers you... go a little higher.

ETA: also I was pretty much bound to stay in the low color range as my first diamond (the one from the ring) was already a J ... So I had to stick somewhere in that range... which was fine by me as I had a budget and I seem to LOVE H-K range color

Did you ever figure out what to do with your 3.6? You should make it into a pendant to go with your new bangin' studs!

My plan is to definitely take it out of its existing double halo setting and put it in a simple solitaire. Then take the larger stones (relatively speaking - they are only 5 pointers) from the setting and use it to make an eternity band and use the smaller ones ( 3 pointers) to make earring jackets. Then I want to get a rose gold cartier "Love" wedding band to stack with the eternity and the solitaire for my right hand...and eventually.... waaaay down the road have a custom made (guard? converter thing? I dunno ... ) made like Bliss's to make the ring into a three stone when I want or just wear as a solitaire... This is my plan *right now* ... obviously that is subject to change depending on anything and nothing lol!

It is very very helpful. I am back and forth now about which on line vendor to use. B2c seems to be cheaper so I could get I color but James Allen seems to be more widely used. I guess I should just call both and ask the best i can get for the 10,000....any way your earrings are magnificent.

When my mom passed her earrings went to my sister they are 3.26 vvs1 and vs1 H color and ideal cut gorgous. I can't come close to buying ones like that . Although my sister does share her's thanks sis.

I'm not familiar with B2C... I liked James Allen a lot because I was able to see actual pictures of the diamonds online and now they even have their beta version that allows you to see videos of the diamond! and they will provide you will idealscopes too! So for me that gave me more assurance as to what I was getting BEFORE I made the big purchase and that assurance was worth it! also they have such a fantastic return policy and they pay for your shipping to return.

I should have read more because I love Lambskin's idea too! I think you are relatively new so you might want to look up cushioncutnut's gorgeous detachable earrings. I love that they are chandelier's but can come apart and be worn several different ways. With all the stones from that ring you can do something very similar. Very creative and one of a kind.
