I have had vertigo and went a few days without eatting
i do my think ibe ever gone even a while day in my life without eatting before but it got to the stage i was so dehydrated i thought i needed to try to eat something so i had two pieces of plain wholeweat bread and butter
I wish this on no one
But after 6 days im cooking again because Gary was doing a dreadful job of managing his blood sugar and me planning meals by remote control lying in bed
Poor Tibby went a few days on half rashions

I think ive eatten a whole lettuce today and every piece of fruit in the house
(Grocery day tomorrow) just feel desperate for something fresh - it is finally spring but we are having some kind of wintery weather bomb right now so it was odd to be having cold salads but its what i was craving

but things taste and smell different. Im off black pepper and minted peas and i hate the smell of the liquid soap we have and the laundry liquid
still im hardly fading away :lol-2: and neither is Tibby, Borris or Gary

We are continuing to eat well. Fingers and toes crossed the pandemic ramping up doesn't change that for anyone here or anywhere. Sorry I always forget to take pics but I remembered last night before Greg got his food from the pan to plate.

Of course the daily ice cream continues as well. You know what I say about ice cream...makes each day sweeter and it's a little bit of happiness that can be bought. Indeed.

Wishing everyone a sweet day filled with yummy food.

Thanks Missy!

They were so buttery and nutty!!! They made me desperately wish I could try the butter pecan ice cream you guys have over there!

Yes, I would love if you could enjoy the butter pecan ice cream with us too. It's ridiculously delicious. I don't even care about calories at all when it comes to the delicious ice cream here. One day maybe you will visit the USA and if so you must come to the Jersey shore and we will take you a number of places to enjoy including the delectable homemade ice cream here. And perhaps you can bring some of those incredible butter pecan cookies. :)

@Daisys and Diamonds how you going sweetie?

Are you feeling better? Did you get some good food in you?

Much better thank you
but there have been tears and some cross words accross the dinner table regarding the menu of late

I was a day late getting the groceries delivered and i wasn't sure if i could walk to the shop for bread and milk and Gary only drives on good eye days so i thought whats for breakfast?
So i googled and thought bubble and squeak
Now remenbering i have never had bubble and squeak and Gary has - but i found Jamie Oliver instructions and set to it
i used boiled spuds cubed and microwaved cabbage - no way am i ever boiling cabbage
I had peas and grated carrot and onion, garlic and bacon and fresh herbs from the garden

It was underwelming but a change from usual, Gary used alot of tomato sauce

Anyway im just dying for salad - all tomato-less as they are $15 a kilo
so we will use pinnapple instead

Anyway i thought id make a prawn or shrimp salad - i hate dressings but i ordered a bottle of thousand island for Gary
ordered 2 lettuce and a big bag of spinach with the idea of a couple of salads this week
A lovelly capsicum

And then
the prawns were out of stock when the order arrived
sigh
So now its going to be a fish finger salad
sigh

nice hoki fish fingers with real hoki not reconstituted- but still its not quite the same
Sigh

I should have just ordered a packet of surimi

Im kind of freindly-ish with my sister the last couple of days
i remembered her birthday
Anyway her daughter is having her birthday party today as when it was her birthday we were at covid alert level 2
Anyway so my sister was up late baking the cake and left it cooling on the rack
the nephew got up at 3am and ate it
he said he thought they were the off cuts
my nephew is very naughty regarding things like this - he is 15 now he sbould know better
my sister is livid and has had to buy a cake
We did laugh but its not really funny

a few years back i stayed with my sister when Bruce waa playing on Christchurch and i brought her a really exspensive box of macarons - she had them hidden in the freezer and Bruno found them and ate every last one but had left the empty packaging in the freezer
my sister does feed her family and they get pudding - no one is starving or missing out on treats
When i was a kid and found a cake of chocolate in the cupboard i would only pinched the first row
i never pigged down the entire block

Thought it was about time i made an effort in the kitchen
made an Italian carameled apple cake- Gary is surposed to be cutting out sugar and we have been really good for weeks and weeks
i made it with 1/3 wholeleal flower and a handful of oats, i reduced the sugar and used low GO sugar and i added blueberries
I've never made caramakized apples before - boy where they sweet
i served a smell slice with natural understand yiugart and warmed blueberries

To go with tea i made a curry brocolli salad, it was so good !

He said he really enjoyed tea tonight

HI:

I have been enjoying The Chef Show. Tried a meatball recipe from the show (and partly from tips from an Italian friend) and they are unbelievable. Melt in your mouth. Only took me 30 years to get it right!
LOL

We went out for a tasting menu to support one of our favorite restaurants.

Just so no one freaks out we're in a part of Australia that's had 8 days of zero community transmission.

That looks divine and the food doesn't look too bad either.

Seriously though how nice you got to enjoy a lovely evening out and a tasting menu. Oh I miss tasting menus. Le Bernardin by far was our favorite restaurant and they had an amazing scrumptious tasting menu. OMG I can remember the entire experience so well. We used to go there a few times a year. It was/is (and I hope will continue to be) a very special restaurant. The other restaurant whose tasting menu was amazing was Per Se. What an incredible restaurant and tasting menu there.

Thanks for sharing with those of us who cannot enjoy tasting menus yet. Hopefully the restaurants will make it and we can enjoy them again.

Today I'll be picking up something from a local restaurant. The sushi place closest to me does some pretty interesting rolls. They occasionally have a lionfish sashimi or dumplings. Down here you can get Lionfish pretty readily.

HI:

Trying to change things up. Instead of stuffing peppers with rice, I baked some organic cauliflower with garlic and kale (chopped finely)--and it was good! Added a little Boursin cheese cuz I thought I should....

cheers--Sharon

Im watching feed Phil on netflex while doing the world's most borring online grocery order
i have ordered so much dairy im going to start mooing
I read dairy is gentle on mouth ulcers
Vegetables are better to be cooked and go easy on the meat, spice, salt and heat oh and no berries or bread, no citrus, no salad, no chocolate, no coffee, no booze
Its going to be worse than the 70s - at least my mum had a freezer full of frozen berries

I was bored this weekend, so I decided to make dumplings....2 different fillings. One with pork, bokchoy, shrimp and the other with pork and kimchi.

I probably made about 120,
But ran out of the wrappers (with I bought, and didn’t make from
scratch). Plan on keeping some, and giving some to the friend who makes me delicious homemade bread! 75DBD47B-15A3-4494-803D-CCE504F28BBC.jpeg

@Daisys and Diamonds, I just wanted to let you know I'm really sorry you've been feeling so unwell lately. You are definitely going through a rough time and I am also sorry to hear your ulcers are back. Sending you lots of good vibes and healing dust and I hope you're feeling better very soon.

Tonight I am making rosemary chicken, mashed potatoes with canned peas and carrots to fool my kid into eating them, and some gravy. Super excited about that since we all love it. And I made my husband some fried chicken this morning for his lunchtime salad. It's starting to look like real restaurant fried chicken now lol.
