I am FIRMLY against illegal immigration.

Coming to the US and seeking asylum is NOT ILLEGAL. I think each of the parents should be allowed to have their day in court and should find out if they came here to seek asylum or if they were truly intending on violating our countrys laws.
So according to you then every person in Mexico is eligible since the whole country is being run by drug lords. Every lives is in danger there. Ooops, Lets not forget these countries. I'm sure we can handle a few billion more asylum seekers.
  • China (People's Republic of China) ...
  • Cuba (Republic of Cuba) ...
  • Laos (Lao People's Democratic Republic) ...
  • North Korea (DPRK, Democratic People's Republic of Korea) ...
  • Vietnam (Socialist Republic of Vietnam) ..

I am not sure you read my reply. And i cannot tell if you are serious or if you are attempting to make fun of my perspective personally.
If you are interested in learning more about immigration though, Please feel free to research the requirements for qualifications to seek asylum.
They are specific and very difficult to prove in many cases. International law should be abided by.
For now, I think we should stick with getting our laws to help those who currently qualify for legal asylum. Extending to all your desired countries would be quite an undertaking!

I agree with @tkyasx78 posts above. Trump is one sick twisted person. Parents came here seeking asylum @Dancing Fire . That is not breaking the law. To call being separated from your parents, with no plan in place to be reunited a summer camp is shameful. Being separated from your family is torture whether your a parent or a child. Do you really think if someone separated your daughters from their children with little hope of ever getting them back, your daughters would just get on with their lives and be fine? Do you think you would be fine? Seeking asylum is not committing a crime.
This was torture, NOT camp. It was intentional. Trump, Miller, Kristjen Nielsen, and anyone else who went along with this needs to be in prison.

@smitcompton I would be beyond thrilled if I woke up tomorrow morning and John McCain, Jeff Flake, Mitt Romney, or any decent Republican with a backbone were our president (the Republican Party seems to be in short supply of decent human being with a backbone). At least those I listed have the guts to stand up to Trump on his lies and I can’t see any of them agreeing with putting children in warehouses with no hope of being reunited with their parents, colluding with Russia, having no regard for anyone who isn’t a white male. I would not agree with many of their policies but I would sleep much better at night and would not wonder if they were lying every time they opened their mouths. I don’t think they would act like children, disrespect our citizens and make comments about our press being emenies of the people. We would still be in good standing with our allies. I would welcome a president who worked with both sides of the aisle to to get things accomplished for the good of the country and was able to compromise. I want a president who compromises regardless of party. We are a better nation when we all feel like we belong and we all matter. The way Trump has divided the country is wrong.

This morning news has Trump asking his general attorney to put an end to the Russia investigation. Yeah, that sounds like an innocent man!

A9CACBDC-6DBC-4A89-A1FF-88E1576BC6B4.jpeg He says he didnt send a formal request or direction to end the probe :roll2:

It will be insane too hear his first “ if I didnt threaten to fire someone formally on paper it is totally ok” And should is not a command ... defense. Smh

Followed by the inevitable -obstruction of justice is not a crime when you are trying to keep yourself from jail ... i mean fight back :eek-2:

Fwiw, if I turn in a report at work and I get an email from them saying the second paragraph is flat out wrong and cannot be sent in as is and it should be done like xxxx .
She is telling me to fix the paragraph not sending me an fyi “should” letting me know she has a different opinion.
he is going to argue the meaning of the word “should” publicly while pressuring a person who is recused and assume that we will not be able to see the entirety of his actions. If I had to be his lawyer I would quit.
He is telling sessions he should violate the deparments policy , unrecuse himself , and then stop a warranted and productive investigation that involved himself and his family. No amount of what is the definition of “should” arguments will change the fact his INTENT IS TO OBSTRUCT THE INVESTIGATION.

trumps intent is to interefere and advise sessions to stop the investigation about trumps own crimes. That is an impeachable offence

OMG @soxfan and @Matata you're killing me!

I never thought I'd type these words, but in Trump's defense...

The grocery store is a minefield for politicians. In 1992, President George H.W. Bush, who had “lived the cloistered life of a top Washington bureaucrat for decades,” according to the New York Times, was described as being amazed by an electronic grocery scanner, technology that had been in use for more than a decade — though his team later clarified that he had been impressed by a particular scanner that could read torn bar codes. Still, in a recession, the characterization that he was out of touch took hold — all the way to the polls.

He’s not the only politician to fall in the grocery trap: During his 2007 presidential campaign, Rudy Giuliani underestimated the cost of milk and bread by more than half. And even politicians who go into the store can be criticized for shopping at the wrong one, or buying the wrong thing. In a famous gaffe, then-candidate Obama posed a question at an Iowa rally: “Anybody gone into Whole Foods lately and see what they charge for arugula? I mean, they’re charging a lot of money for this stuff.” There were no Whole Foods stores in Iowa at the time — and besides, why wasn’t he eating iceberg or romaine like a Real American, anyway?

There you go, hell has frozen over! I gave Trump a pass on something. :D

The Trump administration is considering eliminating security screening at small to medium sized airports. They said it could increase vulnerability at these airports but the risk is low. It will be interesting to see if Congress accepts this. WTH

That way the NRA/2nd amendment fundamentalists outside of the big cities, can fly around the country exercising their gawd-given right to carry their loaded weapons into the plane and not have to put them in their checked baggage.

Because more freedom is always better.

There is a push to become a cashless society so if people truly want it then ID should be necessary when using a card. All my credit and debit cards say SEE ID in the signature space and it irritates me to no end when stores and restaurants ignore it.

It as though all common sense has gone out the window. I feel like I’ve aged 20 years since this jackass has become president.

Well, here is something cheerful for the day. And remember, this is right now, BEFORE we go to true wild west status. Just think how much more fun it will be once every whack job with masculinity issues can sashay onto a plane with a pistol in his overnight, and a long gun to sling into the upper compartment. Woo hoo.

@ksinger , I read articles like this and I wonder if I’ll ever get on a plane again. Between the announcement about the possibility of air plane security being reduced and the fanatics saying 3D printable guns are within their 2nd amendment rights I’m wondering how any of any of this is going to have a good outcome. Common sense doesn’t seem to matter in this country anymore.

@Dancing Fire , I doubt anything will open your eyes at this point. Your It’s impossible to have a discussion with you as you go directly to a one sentence reply that is aimed at baiting people and getting a rise. This president is coming unhinged before our eyes. Who knows what Trump will do as a distraction when the realization the truth will come out sinks in.

We have serious issues that need to be addressed by both parties working together. We have a group of politicians who are only out for their personal gain. Nothing about what we are seeing in our government can be described as reasonable or normal. This president is a terrible human being who loves to divide the country and cause as much chaos as possible.

Today Trump is tweeting praise on Kim, while Kim is making his nuclear weapons.

Meanwhile over 700 children are still not reunited with their families.

Thank You @soxfan . It ought to be trending. We need SOMETHING to laugh about.

So the White House suddenly had a press conference about Russian meddling in our elections today. Trump (and many other Republicans) didn’t seem to consider this a big deal the past year and a half.

Christopher Wray and Dan Coats spoke today at a press conference. They said the Russians are actively trying to divide and weaken the US, interfere in our elections and that the Russians are trying to drive a wedge between the US citizens, and the US and our allies. The threat is real and Russia is trying to undermine our values and our democracy.

One of the questions asked by a reporter was that while Mueller (working with the FBI) has indicted more than 20 Russians for meddling in our elections, our president continues to tweet that Mueller’s investigation is a hoax and the investigation should be shut down. The president’s press secretary said yesterday there was a lot of corruption in the FBI. Why would the American people believe what Wray and Coats are saying about Russians interference over what the president says? Wray replied he can assure the American people that the men and women of the FBI are continuing to follow their oath and do their job.

My guess is Fox News Carlson and Hannity will not air the questions that were asked after the press conference.

CC, so you don't like to see Americans working? you would rather see more people on welfare like it was under Obama?

I understand is bad news for the Ds if more Americans are employed, b/c that means less votes for Trump's opponent in 2020. If the Ds talking narratives (2020) only about Russian collusions and hookers then you guys are in big trouble.

Red hola. Soon signatures will go the way of the dodo. Times they are a changin' :) after a while it will be an eye scan maybe then just a touch and DNA.. not our lifetimes I think.

Hola mi amiga!
Oh lordy I hope not! I am one who won't do those DNA things. The feds already have my fingerprints multiple times. I am glad I am older actually. Though that makes me laugh because my mother, who is 70, calls me all the time about her computer or her smartphone or her wifi router. No telling what a pain I will be to my kids about all the latest crap when I get to her age. I love the commercial where the grandkids show up at grandma's and they say hello then proceed to dump a pile of electronics in the kid's arms - "None of this works."

@Dancing Fire Of course I’m glad people are working. Do you mind paying welfare to farmers due to Trumps trade war?

We get two completely different messages from this administration on the topic of Russia. Trump calls the Mueller investigation fake news and wants the investigation ended. Coats, Wray and Neilson say the red lights are blinking in regards to Russia trying to divide our country, interfere in our elections, trying to destroy our democracy. @Dancing Fire Why do you believe the compulsive liar at every turn? What needs to happen for you to wake up? Russia messing with our electrical grid?

Ivanka’s comment about the families being separated at the border being a low point for this administration was pathetic, Does this woman really think no one noticed her silence the past month, it was deafening. If she cared about these families and children she could have been vocal about her objections when we were first made aware of this happening or better yet, when she first heard of this policy.
