@Dancing Fire Of course I’m glad people are working. Do you mind paying welfare to farmers due to Trumps trade war?

@Dancing Fire Why do you believe the compulsive liar at every turn? What needs to happen for you to wake up? Russia messing with our electrical grid?
At least the farmers will have to work for their share of welfare.

I guess Obama was asleep in 2014 when all this was happening under his watch.

@AGBF, they've traded "I'd rather be dead than red" for "I'm a chump for trump".:loopy:

From my understanding West hollywood does not have final say
The hollywood chamber has to also approve of it before it would be removed.
Personally I dont think they should remove it. trump paid for a spot in his “honor”

They should install a port -a- potty on his spot. Maybe some gold spray paint on announcing his spot since he likes his name on stuff.

Or a better option would be

since the people who get stars have to pay for them when they get one , they should take the 40k trump paid for his square and use it for good.
They should allow people to come to the square and line up. Let each person take a good swing at the square and each person takes a swing , the chamber will donate 25$ to planned parent hood or the ACLU in trumps name , up to the total of the 40k trump used to buy the star.
After the 40k is returned the let people continue to wack at it for a donation size of their choosing to the ACLU or planned parenthood.
At least some good would come of the square. Removing it or even Fixing the square just so people can have their dogs pee on it seems like a waste of an opportunity to help with all the people trump has hurt.

He'll still be the President. Their story of not doing the same for the likes of Bill Cosby and others like him is BS. Hate Trump no matter what all day every day. It is getting ridiculous and I am so sick of it all. Since others get to vent so do I.
Who’s to say they won’t remove Bill Cosby and others? Maybe they are starting with Trump.

Love Trump no matter what all day every day. It is getting ridiculous and I’m getting sick of it all.

It goes both ways Red. :kiss2:

People can be sick of it all they want I suppose. Elect a clown as president don't be surprised when the circus follows.

Of course it does. So we can both be sick of it all and both complain here. ;)2

It must be some kind of misery to be so deeply consumed with hate all day every day for someone who - ironically - likely relishes the idea of having so much ‘free rent’ in so many people’s heads.

I was not someone who commented on Donald Trump's star in "The Walk of Fame". I really do not care if it is removed. I think removing it is kind of silly. The problem with Trump has nothing to do with is worth as an entertainer and removing his star is not enough of a penalty for undermining the Constitution; putting himself above the rule of law; making money at the expense of the American citizens he swore to serve; and selling out the United States to a hostile foreign power.

I will admit, however, that Trump's antics, and I do think of them as antics, since he started to run for office, have caused me misery. They have consumed more of my time than I would have liked. I do worry about them and what they are doing to the country more of the time than I wish I did. So, in a way, you are right, the-mother_thing. Being consumed with worry, if not hatred, for much of the day every day is wearing.

I think removing Trump’s star in the walk of fame, followed by removing the other people’s stars who’ve committed sexual assault is a beautiful message to all the people who were victimized by these powerful people. In my opinion starting with the president of the US is perfect.

I hope they use Trump’s star as a jumping off point and not as an end point.

I want a President who doesn't lie multiple times a day, treats people equally and with respect, regardless of race or gender. This president praises dictators while treating our allies terribly. I never thought we would have a president who set out to rip families apart with no plan in place to put them back together. Sorry, I will never think this makes me filled with hate. I do think it makes me a decent human being.

I am very concerned for our country. We all should be.

The Republican party has claimed to be the party of family values and fiscal responsibility. This party has clearly lost their way.

I find it odd when a refusal to accept and ignore and/or justify immoral and deplorable behavior is considered uncivil. To call a spade a spade is somehow not ok when it is a member of your party. When I am told I must hate the country or a president because I demand a human to lead the country who isnt a pathological liar.... it boggles the mind.

What happened to the republicans who were outraged at immoral behavior and unpatriotic behavior and where are the republicans who put country before party. What happened to stand for what is right and demanding truth? When did morality become fluid and as long as the 401k is growing anything goes?

I was a republican for nearly 40 years . IF THE SHOE was on the other foot the republicans would be screaming bloody murder. And it would all be a lie then too. They meant none of their outrage during the democrats many scandals, because their actions today show they deserve no respect and it was all a lie. When push came to shove congress and the senate sold their souls to the devil for power and money.

In my opinion, Love of country should make those who would defile it REPULSIVE. Patriotism should begin at and be based on defending the constitution. Patriotism should NEVER be based in a party that would wrap fish in it , to protect a person who does not understand any of the document so they could secure a supreme court seat or pacify a conman’s ego.

@tkyasx78 , Thank you for your posts. You have such away of wording your feelings perfectly. Days I let what is happening in Trump world get me down, I tell me myself that there have to be many republicans who see none of this is normal. My BIL has voted republican for over 30 years and he feels very much like you do.

This no longer about parties. It is about our country, our democracy. I would be just as angry about Trump if he were a Democrat.

I’m glad you have children. I hope they grow up with your heart and your values.

Pretty spot on analysis. Although I would add the morals and ethics have always had a way of crumbling under the corrupting lure and influence of power. Just look at all the evangelical/fundamentalist leaders and voters who didn't care that everyone who couldn't help but be forced to listen to the last 40 years of their crowing about how morally superior they consider themselves to be, were therefore actually looking when they took that final hypocritical shimmy to get all snuggly and let Trump have his way with them. And they support him STILL.

https://www.thenation.com/article/why-evangelicals-still-support-trump/

"Say what you will about the terrible, terrifying Trump years, one good thing has already come out of them: the discrediting of evangelical Christianity. For decades, believers have boasted of their superior virtue, especially in matters of sex and marriage and parenting and social propriety. They’ve blasted premarital and extramarital sex, LGBTQ people, divorce, pornography, sex work, foul language, crude behavior, and not being a Christian—as they define “Christian”—blaming these things for everything from 9/11 to Hurricane Katrina. They never get tired of going after Bill Clinton for his infidelities and Hillary Clinton for “enabling” them. (How frustrating it must have been for them that Barack Obama, the Muslim Kenyan communist, spent eight years in the White House with nary a whiff of scandal!) Now they’ve sold their souls to Donald Trump, who has partaken freely of practically every vice and depravity known to man. Urged on by their leaders, 81 percent of white evangelicals voted for Trump—more than voted for George W. Bush, an actual evangelical—and now everyone is laughing at them. It’s about time."

Isn't it amazing and awesome we live in a country where people can (and are allowed) have such diverse opinions and views? And also say what we like! I am thankful every day. :mrgreen2:

I am too. I wish everyone who is a born or naturalized citizen would take their citizenship with pride, with respect, and with responsibility. To learn about our government. the good, bad and ugly. to be informed and learn from legitimate news sources. And to vote. I wish there was a rule, that anyone who doesn't vote in the general election, cannot spout out their opinions on the internet whether it be facebook, twitter, or comments to articles.

I agree, right up until the last sentence. I don't want anyone's opinions suppressed or censored.

Hi,

Evangelical Christians are one of the main reasons we have Trump. How did they become so lost? Power seems to do that to people. I grew up in an evangelical church. MY church bears no resemblance to todays church. In fact we were one of the first churches to racially integrate, really work with drug addicts, hold joint programs with the synagogue across the street and guess what, approve abortion rights for women. I have always said, I grew up well.

I no longer believe the tenants of the church, as I am an atheist, but looking back, as I do these days, its hard to see how evangelicals got from my old days-- to here.

No, they should be able to say what they wish. What they should not be expecting after refusing to do something as simple as casting a vote every 4 years, is to avoid a deserved raft of contempt for the hypocrisy of their complaints.
