And I just surprised a whole lot of dyed-in-the wool liberals who believe I'm uber-conservative. Yup, I voted for the toker from CO. He seemed, by far, the least offensive choice.
Holly S for President in 2020!

He most likely meant "torn" but that wouldn't make a good meme now would it.

I don't know. He's there making a public statement and if he is SO against abortion, I'm pretty sure he would have used the word "torn" over born- it wasn't a typo. Unless of course he has a mental problem, which was debunked by the White House doctor who declared him in "perfect health." :???::???::???:

But yeah, memes.

He (Trump) was never against abortion. He has just adopted this anti-abortion stance recently to please the current group whom he courts. Mike Pence is another story. ;))

Oh I know you were, I was just doing my 'kate thang' here to keep you lively.. and YES neither party is doing much for us.. :( But I think of you every day and send good thoughts, dust and good vibes.. you are strong.

I love that you are so passionate and I was teasing you. And no one is tearing any kids (adults now) from anywhere that I can see unless they have committed a crime or not following program registration as they are supposed to be doing. Frankly shutting down the government over this is ridiculous. Those idiots in DC are not doing their jobs.

Redwood, even though Daca has widespread bipartisan support, Trump has already announced his intentions to end it. What is his beef with Daca? You will have to ask him.
That's why Democrats didn't take his "word for it" when Trump promised Democrats to "solve" Daca AFTER they passed a budget.
https://www.cato.org/blog/how-daca-will-end-when-daca-permits-will-expire
We are going to have a huge logistical, legal and moral nightmare when daca dreamers visa start expiring. Are we really going to use military and police forces to expel close to 800K kids from their homes and schools? I guess Trump and co thinks that's great.

It's not about Daca, it is about chain migration and visa lottery system. A nation should be able to decide who comes in and that they will be a benefit to the country. Frankly the dreamers can stay IMO but not be able to bring aunts cousins etc. Just like other countries do.

IMO, This Admin should issue a 5 yr. temporary green card to any of the 800k whom have not committed a felony the ones who have had committed a felony should be deported, then after 5 yrs they can apply for citizenship. As for the wall I'd agreed with Trump. we must do our best to stop illegals coming into our country.

I don't see how "chain migration" is qualitatively different than any other type of legal immigration. What difference does it make how an immigrant becomes a citizen here, as long as they go through the official process, we check the boxes, and we control the overall numbers of immigration? If anything those people are more likely to become successfully assimilated than people with no support.

Trump, and his administration, are freaking, liars. McConnell promised if budget was passed they would review Daca. Trump stated that would sign a bill with "no strings attached" (though apparently that sentence was struck from the official transcript!)

Senators are working hard on a bipartisan bill, there is support for this bill across the aisles. Before it even gets to his desk:
http://thehill.com/homenews/adminis...raham-durbin-immigration-bill-dead-on-arrival

I think congress should continue their work, draft a bill and pass it. If Trump then wants to veto it, he owns it.

ABKIS-

Does this link to the video work? It looks just like Kate's link. There isn't much of an article to post; I posted the little printing that is on the page. There is a video to watch.

"After 200 years of expansion, democracy’s growth in the world has stalled. A handful of democracies like Venezuela and Hungary are backsliding into authoritarianism. And even in established Western democracies, voters are losing faith in democratic institutions and norms.

That has left us and scholars who study democracy obsessed with a set of questions. Is this all just a blip, or is democracy in real trouble? Are the oldest and sturdiest democracies, like those of Europe and the United States, really as safe as they seem? And why would people voluntarily dismantle their own democracy from within?

No one knows the answers for sure. But we’re starting to figure them out and it’s not all good news. Here, in the first of what will become a regular series of videos exploring big questions and ideas about the world, we explain what we know about democracy’s troubles, what’s causing them and where it leads.

Follow our newsletter for more on the ideas behind major world events and updates on future videos."

I'm okay with that.. let them send the Dreamers to a place they don't know, some don't even speak the language (Mexico has open arms for them I read). I won't back down.

Trump will get some $$$ for the wall or else no DACA.

When I first heard about that wall, I thought, "someone is making a lot of money". Am I the only cynical person here to remember all Trump hotels and casinos? And his SIL's father's? Trump's family is from construction, and he is adamant about building the wall which can not keep people from coming in, given two oceans.
He's into building a very expensive thing. And giving lucrative contracts.

Why do you care? A more important question is what are Republicans going to do about the irresponsible release of classified information by a minority of The House Intelligence Committee that had no authority to disseminate that information (its use was limited to a few, specific, named individuals)? How are they planning to enforce Devin Nunes' recusal? How are they going to sanction Paul Ryan for his role in undermining the country's national security by releasing classified information against the warnings of the intelligence community-something far more egregious than anything of which Hillary Clinton was ever accused?

Dearest Deb,

I love your dreams. They look very much like mine. Maybe we should buy an island together and take up drinking.

That is all.

Fondly,
The cat.

It is truly unbelievably mind boggling that the republicans are doing this... releasing classified information? and disallowing the democrats for releasing their retort. Republicans have gone nuts in DC, Susan Collins is just about the only sensible one there and she voted for the tax cuts so I am doing my best to get her out of the Senate. Devin Nunes should be arrested for being an American traitor. :x2:x2

Should we lead a chant of, "Lock him up!"? That seems to be the new American way...to forgo a trial and go right to the punishment!

You can have Susan Collins since she is really a closet democrat anyway. :D Take Jeff Flake while you're at it.
