John,

I''m fond of larger tabled diamonds as my pet rock is similarly proportioned. What was written about this stone being less than Ideal is correct, but it''s also probably that this stone is absolutely beautiful. In my stone''s case, I would put it up against any Ideal cut stone and it''s quite beautiful. For example, when I walk through Tiffany''s my stone performs as well if not better than Tiffany''s most beautiful diamonds. Yet my stone is graded GIA Very Good, not Excellent.

Anyway, just wanted to chime in that a stone of these proportions can be quite beautiful. This is a big purchase, so hopefully you can see it in person, or if that''s not possible, have it sent to an appraiser who can evaluate it in person to provide you the comfort level you are seeking.

Best of luck...........

Sorry I am probably too late! But the only way you can tell will be if you are able to compare it to an ideal cut stone and see how much difference there is. It could be a fine as Rod said. It''s easier to buy the ideals online because they are in the top category and it''s harder to go wrong. But if you can compare this stone with a better cut one, then you can decide whether the price difference is worth it for you! Please let us know!
