Hi Everyone,
I'm newly engaged and my fiance wants me to be super happy with my rings and has let me help in the process. He's purchased a BG signature H&A 1.17 round G and I'm very happy about the diamond. I had no idea the setting would be so challenging. I have been diagnosed by a local jeweler as a "super feeler" lol. I cannot tolerate any diamonds going down the sides where I feel them when I squeeze my fingers together. However, I don't want a solitare. This is my dream ring! We tried on many settings at local jewelers but I knew the quality would not be the same as my BG diamond! So we decided to order the settings from BG. It is just very nerveracking to order a ring online, with no turning back, because it's custom.

We've chosen the Dream Half Eternity with Truth Head and it has has 5 diamonds on each side of the band, we've modified it to have 3 diamonds on each side and hopefully the diamonds will cover my finger but I won't be able to feel them when I squeeze my fingers. The wedding band will have 7 diamonds instead of 11. The diamonds are 0.05.

The bands are 2.4mm wide, I'm concerned it might feel too wide when I wear two. I am a size 7 finger. Does anyone has 4.8mm total width and how does it feel?

I think I love the CAD. Other considerations are, increasing the diamond size and having 2, .10 size diamonds on each side of main diamond if that doesn't mean widening the band.

Or, reduce width of band, perhaps to a 1.9-2.1 range and choose .03 stones and perhaps do 4-5 diamonds on each side of the main diamond.

So, what do yall think?
Stick with the CAD as it is? Do you like the bezel at the end or are there other options?
Go with bigger diamonds and reduce to 2 on each side of diamond?
Go with smaller diamonds to get a thinner band?

Thank you all sooo much! I just found this site and I can't believe it took this long to find this gem!

I have a size 6 1/2 finger. 5mm of rings is not that much for a size 7 finger IMO. I think it should be fine but if you are worried you could
go down to 2mm each. I wouldnt go too far below 2mm with pave in it. You could also ask them if they can make you a wax of the ring
before the metal version is made so that you can try it on and make sure its not too wide or that the stones dont go between your finger
(which I dont think they will). Plus you can see if 3 stones is enough to cover the top of your finger. You made need 4 on each side if
covering the top of your finger is important to you.

Thank you so much tyty! I appreciate your insight. Do you think the diamonds will have to be smaller if I go down to a 2mm? They can do a wax model for $225, it might be worth it but we have an engagement get together on 3/16 that I would really like to have a ring for lol! I've asked bg to give me measurements so I can see if the current set up with 3 diamonds on each side will cover my finger. My fiance thinks it's perfect for me. So hard to make decisions...

*Personally speaking* I'm not sure about the bezel on the end stones - I can see how they'd protect the end stones from damage if you bashed somthing across your hand, for example, but it might make the end stones difficult to clean? Perhaps you could ask if normal prongs would be possible instead, and if there are any potential issues/benefits with either option.

You could look for some stainless steel / silver plain bands in 2mm and 2.5mm width - they should be cheap enough to buy two of each, so you can decide which width you prefer when you have two on the finger. Either that or pop into a local jeweller when they are quiet (so you're not taking them away from buying customers) and ask to try on wedding/engagement band sets of different widths because you are looking around at options. :)

Congratulations on your engagement and being a part of the ring selection.
The width seems fine to me, I am a 7.5 and often wear more than 4.8mm of rings/bands.
What I would requst, and this is a personal preference, I think the diamond could be set lower into the head. It seems high to me. Do you have measurements on the height?
Pretty design!

Thanks oohshiny - I am nervous about the bezel - never had them before. I've emailed Jamie to see if prong are an option. And thank you for the idea to buy 2 bands of 2mm each and 2 bands of 2.4 mm each - I'm working on it now!!! Genius - thank you!
Thank you Sandeek for the encouragement on the 4.8mm and I've sent an email to Jamie on height of head. I requested that the wedding band and ering sit perfectly flush - maybe that's why it's higher? But maybe there's a way to have them flush and have the head a little lower.
Thank you all - it's so much fun!

So Jamie said the head is 5.15mm in height, and I won't be able to see the cutlet. What do you think about the height - I really have no reference.
What about the cutlet - I do like seeing it. It's the Truth head which has hearts and I really like that. What do yall think?

@bling_dream19 -

My finger is a size 7.5 and I often wear 2 3mm bands together and find it comfortable. Having said that, tho, I like the 3 point option, as you'll find that the small diamonds on both bands will have more surface area than your main diamond - making them the dominant look of your set. To that end, I'd definitely go with 3 pt stones. While this would make it more visually appealing (in my opinion only, granted), it would also make the combined rings slimmer and perhaps easier to wear; while I find my 2 x 3mm bands comfortable, I find my 2 x 2.5mm bands, when worn together, MORE comfortable.

Good luck!

Thanks Mrs. B! So, you're thinking to drop the band diamonds to 3 pointers, instead of 5 pointers and reduce the width of the band from 2.4mm to 2mm, total of 4mm width, instead of 4.8?
The main diamond will look bigger and the smaller diamonds will have more finger coverage, because I could probably have 4-5 diamond on each side instead of 3.
Really great idea! Yall are helping, thank you!!!:kiss2:

You may still have this problem if your wedding band spins. I had a five stone band that perfectly covered the top of my finger IN THE STORE. But in real life they would not stay in place on top of my finger. The band would spin and the diamonds would be between my fingers or underneath.

Oh gosh - I hadn't thought of that! Maybe the ring was too big?
I'm thinking of getting them soldered together at some point. My fingers tend to swell a lot, so sometimes things spin and other times soo tight.

I had them soldered together and it fixed my problem.

I was thinking the same thing about the rings spinning, even the engagement ring will tend to spin and you may feel the stones. Do you think your fingers would get used to the feel of the stones if you wore them for a while? I've got a 3/4 eternity setting for my engagement ring and a full eternity band and after having worn them for some time don't even really feel them anymore. The stones all around actually bother me less than a ring with less stones that turns, like my 5 stone band....
