Hello - I've been browsing PriceScope for the last 2 weeks, and have found the site and forums incredibly helpful.

I am about to bite the bullet on this guy, and was hoping I could get some feedback (whether there are any red flags, etc.): http://www.jamesallen.com/loose-diamonds/round-cut/1.57-carat-j-color-si1-clarity-excellent-cut-sku-261958

I am focusing on cut quality, and this has a HCA score of 1.4 (E,E,VG,E). They will be sending me a idealscope image in several days, but unfortunately, I have to order it before I see it because of timing (I need the ring before x-mas, so need to order today). I'm not sure if I can tell the difference between J and I color (I know i couldn't between H and I).

Cheers, and thanks in advance!

Table a little big stay 54-58 and crown angle to small stay 34-35....................................

Thanks for the reply. What does that mean practically? E.g., it won't be as sparkly b/c the table is too big and crown angle too small? Are those table/crown angle rules of thumb still relevant if it has a good HCA score?

Thanks!

7.5 mm for 8200 sounds good. HCA under 2 with GIA EX/EX/EX is good.

Hmm, the HCA rating was VG for scintillation.

That's the bigger table. Not to worry, I'm sure it will be very sparkly.

I also like the 60.3 & 59 table...ask if that crystal inclusion is eye clean

Thanks for the comments!
