I was so desperate to find a style I'd never get sick of that I'm worried I've picked something too boring. Plus being on here has given me some serious DSS!! :)

I've been eyeing off the thin banded cushion and radiant cuts in halos and wondering if I should do the same (get a cushion shaped halo) or go back to the drawing board entirely.

Thoughts?

1.2ct princess cut, F, SI2, 2.5mm band with 14 x round brilliants

Honestly I think it looks perfect now; I wouldn't reset it into a halo. Sometimes taking a break from the forums can be a good thing ;) I know some people also recommend taking your ring off every once in a while. When you put it back on, it'll look much bigger than you remember!

To be honest ive never seen a princess in a cushion halo that I thought looked really
Good. Kind of like putting a square in a round peg kind of thing. I think it looks
perfect the way it is.

If you want a halo I would go with a different shape (something without pointed corners.)

I think it looks big, beautiful and classy!!! Do what you want, but I think a better path would be to look at wedding bands to spice it up. I wouldn't change a thing.

Oh boy…guess I'm going to be the dissenting opinion here :cheeky: …but a halo cured my DSS so I think it might be worth considering. I guess it depends on how bad a case of it you have! I agree that princesses can be a little trickier, but I've seen settings where the corners are rounded out a bit - Looked very quickly and found this just to illustrate what I mean

I posted my reply under your other thread in SMTB, so hopefully you'll see it there! :wavey:

Do you love your stone? And do you want to keep it? Because if you don't want to change your stone... I think your current setting is very flattering both to the stone and to your hands.

It's a very classy ring and looks lovely on you.

Have to tried playing with stackers to get a change of pace?

If you do want to change your stone... then maybe there are options. But honestly, a halo on a princess isn't going to make it less boring. Eventually you get used to anything.

You are all so lovely! Thank you for your kind words and for making me see sense! I've got my confidence back now that I remember the whole reason I wanted this stone/setting was because I wanted a classic style that would last the test of time. Maybe 5 or 10 years down the track, if hefty rectangular radiants with halo settings are still in fashion, I'll treat myself to a trade-up.

Sean says I can do whatever he wants as long as it saves him from dealing with a pouty wife. Well, you know what they say, "happy wife, happy life"!
