I attached a picture that shows my existing ring (simple 14k white gold but tons of sentimental value) and the two heads the jeweler is proposing.

It will hold a 1.3 RB that''s 7.10 mm in diameter so I asked for 6 prongs.

Which style would you choose?

Thanks!

Thanks tyty!

The one on the right was my first gut choice but I wanted to talk it through with you experts!

There are so many beautiful settings out there but I''m too attached to change mine since he proposed with it 8 years ago.

The six prong. When I had my diamond mounted in a peg head, it was set in a six prong head. It made my stone look rounder and larger.

I definitely agreed with the consensus until the jeweler sent me a Photoshop mash up of the setting. Now it looks out of balance and like it will sit too high. Thoughts?

I'm starting to think I should just buy a setting like this:
Excel Diamonds 6 sprong setting

For reference I need the e-ring to fir alongside my wedding band that looks like this except the center is rose gold and the rails are white gold - it's 7mm wide and I have stubby fingers so I need a narrow engagement ring shank:

I personally like the Excel version, as I think it''s the most visually appealing, but I understand the sentimentality of keeping the first band. Have you thought about visiting other jewelers to see if there are additional options.?

far right
