Help Reading ASET and Idealscope Images

Do these ASET and IDEALSCOPE Images look okay? Based on the HCA it shows as 1.6 - Excellent within TIC range. Just want to make sure the images confirm that. Also is this diamond a true "heart and arrows" cut diamond? I care about light return/fire/brilliance.

If you are looking for a true Hearts & Arrows...this is not one of them. I do think this diamond you are looking at is very nice, should be white, flashy and bright.

Im really not sure what "True Hearts and Arrows" means. Is it a special brand?

I was under the assumption it was just a cut style.

Light performance is great. Images look good. No one can tell the difference between true hearts and arrows and an ideal cut stone with excellent optical symmetry just by looking at it, except perhaps if you were a diamond cutter/H&A specialist looking at one of their own H&A diamonds in a certain kind of lighting.

Check HRD Antwerp, BGD, Whiteflash this will give you good information on what to look for. Whiteflash, BGD and a couple of others sell their branded AGSL Ideal diamonds they call 'Hearts & Arrows'

Ah ok, so from what you are saying i gather that a stone if cut perfectly should automatically have the hearts and arrows appear on the images. If it is not "absolute perfect" then it will still have the hearts and arrows but not in an official sense?

Yes, that's basically right. Usually there is some malformation of the hearts if the precision is not perfect.

Ok, thanks for the clarification. I guess mine isnt cut to the extreme perfection to be called a hearts & arrows diamond. No worries, i was just thinking that would be a bonus. I wasnt looking for one.

I was however looking for a diamond that had excellent light performance (short of a true h&A i suppose).

I am hoping this fits the bill based on the ASET and IDEALSCOPE images above. HCA says it should be but i know thats not enough to go on.

Hah. Well, I don't usually have to say this, but this diamond is freaking gorgeous! You can't go wrong with that color and clarity combo. The light return is excellent.

Thank you! Yes the clarity and color are pretty great, I wasnt even shooting for that high but time constraints forced me to take what i was available and willing to pay for, rather than slightly lower and saving money and waiting it out a little.

But thanks to Pricescope, i learned that those are not the only things to look for when judging a diamond. Excellent Light was my goal after the four C's.

But why IF ? unless for an investment stone stick to VS1 for ''perfect'' clarity.

A point to note, a stone with Hearts & Arrows is not neccessarily brighter or more fiery than a non-H&A stone...so it's just a bonus or a gimmick for companies to rip you off
